Founded in 1968 on the Gold Coast, we have been privileged to play a significant role in key projects and areas of development legislation which have helped shape South East Queensland.

We utilise leading equipment and technology, and have a mobile workforce capable of servicing projects throughout AustraliaSince our foundation we have grown and up-skilled to ensure we are able to provide the survey capabilities that our clients demand. These are supported by leading technology and all work is completed using best practices.
Our team plays an integral role in large scale infrastructure and development projects from initial data capture for design, construction and control, mining and resources, civil infrastructure construction services, and as-constructed services to final survey.
We place high importance on effectively collaborating with any associated consultants to ensure that project outcomes are achieved.
Our senior staff either chair or are on industry committees and are familiar with current legislation and pending legislative change that assists streamline land survey and registration processes. Our systems are tuned to identify efficiencies to enable plan sealing and subsequent registration of title at the earliest practical stage.

Depending on your project needs, reporting can include summaries and analysis of site related searches, approval history, context analysis, current and draft statutory planning instruments, and emerging planning legislation.
Development applications & strategy
Expert town planning advice, project leadership and written town planning reporting. Responding to each project brief, we undertake site-based investigations, produce planning strategies, assist in project design, brief the consultant team, review consultant material, prepare town planning reports and expert witness reports. We implement the development assessment process from prelodgement to decision and beyond.
Risksmart accreditation (Brisbane City Council and Logan City Council) and in-house survey, scanning and titling capabilities contribute to the range of development design and application strategies considered to assist with your project.
Subdivision & urban design services
Preparation of master plans, structure plans, plans of development and the associated design codes and guidelines. This includes analysis of design concepts, site constraints and market preferences to ensure that a project applies good urban design principles and achieves an excellent, site responsive design outcome.
Building on over 40 years of surveying and titling experience, we deliver practical and accurate subdivision designs, subdivision proposal plans and formal Survey Plans, including volumetric subdivision and easements.

3D Laser Scanning3D Laser Scanning allows for the accurate and thorough spatial documentation of built/natural environments to assist in the project’s planning, design and implementation. Bennett + Bennett’s expertise in traditional survey, project control and data management is leveraged by our integrated 3D capture technologies.
Our solutions and work flows in 3D Laser Scanning, Modelling and Spatial Analysis provide an excellent outcome for as-constructed/as-built recording of structures, civil environments, facilities and plants, heritage buildings, urban renewal, mining, oil and gas. Our solutions remove uncertainty in complex environments and provides a foundation for confident and effective decision making. Laser scanning is a highly versatile, safe and robust method for the acquisition of precise and rich 3D data sets on projects of any scale or complexity. Photogrammetry / Aerial SurveyingBennett + Bennett provides high resolution imagery products and high accuracy 3D measurement services. These include terrain mapping, reverse engineering and as-built solutions through the use of high resolution survey accurate imagery utilising the latest photogrammetry techniques throughout Australia and overseas.
Drone ServicesDrones provide a data acquisition platform to fit the niche between what is possible from ground survey and manned aircraft.
Drones facilitate survey and inspections to reach the most inaccessible, hazardous and large scale sites in a safe and efficient manner. We can capture anything from industry leading drone LiDAR to Ultra HD imagery and 4K cinematic video. Our RPAS data acquisition technology is deployed by our specialist Spatial Surveyors and supported by our talented Data Management Team. This enables us to process, analyse, and prepare tailored deliverables to service all clients’ requirements.

BIM Data ManagementWe have developed systems and workflows by effectively combining traditional surveying, utility mapping, laser scanning and photogrammetry techniques that ensures consistent delivery of “existing conditions” survey information models which is a vital foundation framework for the effective adoption of BIM in the design process. Early input in developing the brief and outlining the level of detail and information required is key. Currently, this process occurs too late for most, but not all, of the surveyors’ work. Design consultants/clients should therefore engage with Bennett + Bennett to understand the nuisances of file format and data interoperability considerations prior to the briefing phase to ensure “best for project” outcomes are achieved.
Our team is well versed in providing data in industry recognised standards that is enriched with intelligent attribution.
During the construction phase, Bennett + Bennett takes this further by providing survey data model management that spatially verifies and validates design authored BIM content before the transferring of the design onto site for the builder. Early involvement on these projects has made us aware of, and helps mitigate, the dangers posed by change management. Design data generated from BIM software is very dynamic and fluid and various iterations are sometimes available onsite. On past projects our clients have achieved significant time and cost savings with this additional layer of service offered by Bennett + Bennett.
Our field techniques allows for the continuous capture and validation of the constructed elements. This is achieved by providing and maintaining live as-constructed and conformance models that can be relayed back into a federated model for inclusion into submissions to the client.
