Gordon also stated that the One Acre Fund was tax deductable as long as the check is written out to the NCM.

President’s Message

To All Cape Fear Corvette Members

Our elections for officer and directors of the club will be soon upon us. In November, we take nominations for all positions. Officer positions are: President, Vice President,

Secretary, and Treasurer. Directors are appointed by the officers and confirmed by the vote of the members. Directors will be reconfirmed each year and serve without term limits until a successor is appointed. Directors are our Webmaster and NCM Ambassador. Voting

occurs in December and officers are installed in office in January to serve one calendar year. This year there was a lot of change in the club. We are anticipating with excitement our

show at a new venue. A great example of teamwork between the officers, the show committee and all members signing up for volunteer positions and seeking out and giving

donations of money and items for our silent auction. All this combined team work makes the show happen. Officers offer guidance in a leadership capacity. Everyone participates to make the club a success.

Please consider running for an officer position for the next year!

Gordon

Skydome Ribbon Cutting, 1-Millionth Reveal

It’s official! A year and a half after a large sinkhole formed in the Skydome of the National Corvette Museum, the 13 story iconic landmark is back, better than ever, with all eight “sinkhole Corvettes” returned to display. Though the Skydome re-opened to visitors on July 6, a ceremonial ribbon cutting (or rather, caution tape cutting) was held as part of the Museum’s 21st Anniversary Celebration.

After more than four months and 1,200 man-hours of painstaking craftsmanship by the GM team, the restoration of the milestone 1-Millionth Corvette is complete, and the car was unveiled in the Skydome following the ribbon cutting.

Kimberlee A. Fast Pavilion Dedication

A dedication ceremony was held today at the newly constructed Kimberlee A. Fast Pavilion at the NCM Motorsports Park. Last year at the Museum's 20th Anniversary Celebration it was announced that the Pavilion and Park's entry road would be named in remembrance of Kim.

"Kim attended most of the events at the NCM," said Chuck Fast, Kim's father. "We thought that she would really be proud to have the building named after her."

Kim was an avid racer, participating in many autocrossing and high speed events on road courses in the mid-west states. Chuck was joined by wife Sharon Fast, and Museum Executive Director Wendell Strode to unveil the plaque recognizing Kim.
