There are a number of times when music is performed for the camera.

Vik (Ian Mortimer) picks up a guitar a couple of times:

Rex (Nique Needles) also strums a little, does guitar lessons in jail and joins Mitch (Jo Kennedy) at the end for a little singalong:

Mitch also does a singalong with Lorraine (Toni Scanlan) and her nan, doing a few

lines from a Scottish folk song:

There’s also a number of buskers, notably artist Reg Mombassa:

Music director Graham Bidstrup also wrote the small amount of underscore required, but his main work would have involved organising the substantial amount of previously recorded material used in the soundtrack.

It is likely that a soundtrack compilation was planned, at least of the Australian material, but one was never released.

Music director and composer Graham Bidstrup:

Graham “Buzz” Bidstrup is too well known an Australian musician to list in detail here.

He has a relatively detailed wiki listing here, and at time of writing, he had a Facebook page here.

Bidstrup is well known for his work with the bands The Angels and GANGgajang, and the latter band had a website here which offered this short CV of Bidstrup:

Graham “Buzz” Bidstrup has enjoyed a long and successful career in the Australian music industry.  He co-wrote and co-produced the chart-topping hit “No Secrets” for “The Angels” and has also been in demand as a record producer, session player and film music composer. He co-founded several other successful Australian bands including The Party Boys and GANGgajang. In 1999 he was manager and music director for iconic Australian Indigenous entertainer Dr Jimmy Little AO. Buzz guided Jimmy’s career until Jimmy’s passing in April 2012 and helped establish The Jimmy Little Foundation  in 2006 and Uncle Jimmy Thumbs up Ltd in 2008.  Both are not for profit organisations working to bring better preventative health initiatives to Indigenous Australians. The Thumbs up! Program has been delivering arts based health and community education into many schools and communities across Australia since 2009 working in partnership with Federal, State and Territory Governments and other NGO’s.Although his workload for the Foundation and Thumbs up! keeps him very busy, Buzz continues to be well connected with the music business that has been his life for

nearly 40 years. Still performing with GANGgajang, he has co-written their 2016 release single, Circles in the Sand and is completing a national tour with them. Buzz’s skill as a producer has him much in demand with young emerging artists. A regular judge for Australian Music Industry Awards (2015 Queensland Music Awards, 2016 NT Music Awards), Buzz has also been on the panel for the Australia Council Live Touring grants 2003 2010 and contributes to the industry by counselling artists and industry players across the country.  Buzz his a board member of the Australian Association of Artist Managers and continues to mentor young managers through several programs run within the AAM.
