We are beyond blessed to have teachers who

care just as much about their students outside

of the classroom as they do inside the �

classroom! �

Support for Catholic Schools, Inc. (SCS) was�

created as a result of the 2014 Kansas law that �

established the Low Income Student Scholarship

program. This law, as modified in 2015 and 2017,

allows taxpayers to make a charitable �

contribu)on to an approved Scholarship Gran)ng �

Organiza)on (SGO). �

In turn, taxpayers will receive a 70% Kansas �

income tax credit that can be applied to their

Kansas income tax liability. SCS is an approved

SGO in the State of Kansas.�

SCS is a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of �

Wichita that provides financial scholarships to

grade schools and high schools in the �

Catholic Diocese of Wichita and Catholic Diocese

of Dodge City. �

�

Annually, the SCS board �

distributes at least 90% of gi3s received to �

Catholic schools in the diocese that have eligible

students. The State of Kansas allows up to 10%

of gi3s to be used for the opera)onal expenses of

the SGO. Students must be eligible for the free

and reduced lunch program under the Na)on

School Lunch Act and be entering the school for

the first )me (kindergarten and transfer students).�

�

Our Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic School is a

direct benefactor from these scholarships. �

Last year we had 23 students receive this �

scholarship and this year we have had�

40 applicants. If you would like to help support

our school by contribu)ng in this way, please

Our 2nd annual ABC Fashion Show featuring our

two Kindergarten classes! Mrs. Bernadac and �

Mrs. Brakey’s students each decorated a vest

with the letter of the alphabet and adding what

items start with that letter! For example: “A”

might have a picture of an apple, alligator, �

alien, and asparagus. Such a fun event! �

diocese who are either struggling or seeking �

information on anxiety, depression or any other �

mental health issue. Alongside speakers Richard

times for activities and praise and worship music. �
