Liturgical Directives From Cardinal Sean
O’Malley For Flu Prevention This year’s influ-
enza virus is the most widespread outbreak since
public health authorities began keeping track more
than a dozen years ago. To help protect the health of
all, the Cardinal directs the following for the cele-
bration of the Sacred Liturgy and for flu prevention:
The distribution of the Precious Blood is suspended.
The exchange of the Sign of Peace should be of-
fered without any physical contact. Please remem-
ber that those who are ill or suspect that they may
be ill with a contagious illness are not bound by the
Sunday Mass obligation. If you have any questions,
please feel free to call the Parish Office.
From the Rector…. This is Commitment
Weekend when we are given the opportunity to sup-
port the Catholic Appeal which provides funding
for Cardinal Seán to carry out the administrative
and pastoral duties of the Archdiocese. Admittedly,
it can be awkward to fill out these forms during the
Mass, but when we see it in light of the Lenten call
to almsgiving and the Gospel invitation to bring our
gifts to the altar, the spiritual purpose adds depth to
the practical. I have made my commitment of
$350. I hope you will do what you are able. Please
remember that any amount received that exceeds
our goal will remain here in the parish. Thanks

de años. Para ayudar a proteger la salud de todos, el Car-
denal dirige lo siguiente para la celebración de la Sagra-
da Liturgia y para la prevención de la gripe: La distribu-
ción de la Preciosa Sangre está suspendida. El intercam-
bio del Signo de la Paz debe ofrecerse sin ningún contac-
to físico. Recuerde que aquellos que están enfermos o
sospechan que pueden estar enfermos con una enferme-
dad contagiosa no están sujetos a la obligación de la misa
dominical. Si tiene alguna pregunta, no dude en llamar a
la Oficina Parroquial.
Del Rector … Este es el Fin de Semana de Com-
promiso cuando tenemos la oportunidad de apoyar la
Campaña Católica que proporciona fondos para que el
Cardenal Seán lleve a cabo las tareas administrativas y
pastorales de la Arquidiócesis. Es cierto que puede ser
incómodo completar estos formularios durante la Misa,
pero cuando lo vemos a la luz del llamado Cuaresmal a
la limosna y la invitación del Evangelio para llevar nues-
tros regalos al altar, el propósito espiritual agrega pro-
fundidad a la práctica. Hice mi compromiso de $ 350.

MASS CARDS AND SPIRITUAL BOUQUETS
Parishioners are welcome to come to the office to
request a Mass Card or a Spiritual Bouquet. The
Mass Card is a remembrance by which we offer an
announced Mass for the repose of the soul of the
deceased person or for the intentions of the living.
The Spiritual Bouquet is an enrollments in which we
remember the person enrolled at Mass offered every
week for both living and deceased.

ing the Easter Season. As Easter is the time when
the death and resurrection of Christ is celebrated, it
is most appropriate to remember our departed loved
ones who now live with the Risen Christ. Please

the Parish Office. If the donation is received no later

an Procession through the streets of Boston. Pro-
gram begins and ends at the Basilica of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help in Boston. Parking available
WORKSHOP ON VISITING THE SICK
Saturday April 21 & 28, 2018 a workshop on
Pastoral Care to the Sick and the Homebound will
be offered at Blue Hills Collaborative, Hyde Park
(Blue Hills Collaborative Center 20 Como Road
form 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Timothy Duff, a certified
chaplain, will teach the course.
The workshop will include a review of communica-
tions skills, the basics of pastoral visitation, key ill-
ness issues, spiritual needs and concerns, grief, loss
and dying, and caregiving issues. Eucharistic minis-
ter, pastoral visitors, parish nurses and others are
encourage to attend. Fee: $40 Registration infor-
