The Parish of St. Maximilian Kolbe—Praying for the Needs of Our Neighbours Please pray for the residents of: Norman Road and Pool Lane National Eucharistic Congress—Spiritual Preparation in June 2018 For those attending the Eucharistic Congress, or hoping to do so, the Bishop of Shrewsbury has issued an invitation to join him at St. Anthony’s, Wythenshaw, at 3pm on Sunday 24th June for a Holy Hour of Adoration, and to be formally commissioned as Diocesan Delegates. Delegates can also prepare by attending the Diocesan Symposium in St. Ambrose College, Hale Barns on Saturday 9th June, repeated in Shrewsbury on Sunday 10th June, when Fr. Oliver Treanor will be speaking on the theme: Maelstrom of Love: The Eucharist, Source and Centre of the Sacramental Life. National Eucharistic Congress—Volunteers Needed The organisers of the Eucharistic Congress in Liverpool in September are planning to hand out “goody” bags for delegates. They are looking for volunteers to help fill these bags on the Thursday before the congress (6th September). If any parish groups or individuals would be willing to help with this, please see Fr. Peter. More details will be available nearer the time. Vacancy for Welfare Support Officer in Shrewsbury Diocese A vacancy has arisen for a Support Worker to assist the Diocesan Welfare Officer. The suc- cessful applicant will support the Welfare Officer assisting in visiting and participating in the care of sick and retired priests in their own home, or community setting. Also in an adminis- trative role, booking appointments and dealing with the day to day administrative tasks which support a safe, confidential person-centred service for retired and sick Priests in the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The work will be facilitated, supervised and supported by the Welfare Officer.
