College Scholarships Fair hosted by Mount Washington Valley Promotions Does your non-profit organization or business offer scholarships to graduating students or those already in post-secondary programs? If so, we are reaching out for your help with an event we have planned for November.

We have discovered that many students don't know about the local scholarships that are available to them, or don't know which ones they are eligible for. For the past couple of years, we have been working toward a Scholarship Fair where those who award scholarships can meet with those seeking scholarships to explain

what they offer, who qualifies for the funds and what is involved in applying.

Details are in the final stages but the Scholarship Fair will be held on Wednesday, November 19th from 6-8pm at the North Conway Community Center. It will be open to ALL students from Kennett High School, the Community School in Tamworth and Fryeburg Academy, as well as home-schooled students, and their parents.

More information will be coming soon.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MWV NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR

WORKDAY

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25TH, 2014

Would you like to help our elders or physically challenged neighbors prepare their homes for winter? Do you need assistance preparing your home for winter? The goal of this coalition is to help our neighbors have safe, warm and dry homes. For some, fall and winter bring challenges too great to accomplish alone.

For seven years volunteers have worked throughout Mount Washington Valley, including Bartlett to the north, Tamworth and Freedom to the south, Fryeburg and Brownfield, Me. to the west.

Volunteers work to assess the requests, determine specific skills needed, purchase materials if needed and create teams by assigning volunteers matching skills and

your home in order to evaluate if your request falls within the scope of our abilities. If your request qualifies, a team will arrive on October 25th to complete the work To volunteer leave your name and phone number for a call back. For paperless registration go to www.nativitynh.org.

There are no charges for materials or service. Neighbor-to-Neighbor relies on donations (in-kind or

monetary) and fund raising to purchase needed materials. Many generous individuals, groups and churches have donated to this cause. The organizers thank all of you for your support over the years.

The deadline to request assistance is October 10, 2014. Volunteers are needed and everyone 14 years and older are welcome. We have a job for everyone. This day is a “feel good day” for all involved.
