1. Charge the HotSpot, if necessary.

2. To turn the HotSpot device on, press andhold the power button on the side of thedevice until you see the word “Sprint” onthe LCD screen.

3. In order to get a better wireless signal,make sure you are in an area that iscovered by the Sprint network.

4. The WiFi network name is Galion PublicLibrary, and the password you will needto use to connect a device to the HotSpotis Read1234.

5. The HotSpot device works on most WiFienabled devices such as laptops, desktops,smart phones, and tablets. To connectyour device, find the WiFi network nameon your device and connect to it.

6. The HotSpot battery will last between 8to 24 hours depending on usage. To shutdown or turn off the device completely,press and hold the power button until yousee the word “Goodbye” on the LCDScreen.

7. When you return the HotSpot to thelibrary, please place the device andcharger in the box. Make sure to return itto the Circulation Desk at GPL.

Please be gentle with the device, chargerand case, and make sure to charge theHotSpot for the next patron before you

return it to the library.

Visit Galion Public Library and ask atthe upstairs Circulation Desk. Afteryou sign the user agreement, librarystaff will pull the device for checkout.

A Mobile HotSpot may be borrowedby GPL cardholders ages 18 and olderwhose accounts are in good standing.

You can borrow a Mobile HotSpot for2 weeks.

Yes! However, you must wait 24 hoursafter returning one HotSpot beforechecking out another device.

No. Texting or SMS messaging is notavailable.

You must return the Mobile HotSpotto a librarian at the Galion Public

Library Circulation Desk. You mustreturn the device with all the original

packaging and accessories.

No. A Mobile HotSpot cannot berenewed. You must wait 24 hours

before checking out another HotSpot.Please note: Mobile HotSpot will beturned off once it's 1 day overdue.

Borrowing and using a MobileHotSpot is free. If the device or any

parts are missing when it is returned,a fee will be charged to your library

account. Overdue fines are $2.00 perday. Full replacement cost is $60.00.

A $5.00 fine will also be charged ifthe device is returned through the

book drop.

Yes. The device periodically receivessoftware updates from the service

provider. You can go ahead andaccept the update, it only takes a

few minutes.

Your Internet usage is not tracked byGPL. Galion Public Library does nothave access to or collect usage data,

and does not provide patroninformation to the service provider.

●Borrowers must be 18 years orolder and have an active GalionPublic Library card in order tocheck out a HotSpot.

●Borrowers must sign a MobileHotSpot Patron Rental Agreementeach time the device is borrowed.

●Limit to (1) one WiFi HotSpot perhousehold.

●Overdue fine is $2.00 per day.

●There will be a $5.00 fee forreturning the HotSpot through thebook drop. The device must bereturned to a staff member atthe Circulation Desk duringlibrary hours.

●Wireless service will be terminatedif the Mobile Hotspot is notreturned by the due date.

●HotSpots are checked out for 2weeks, and cannot be renewed.You must wait 24 hours beforeyou can rent a HotSpot again.
