“It’s Christmas!” as Noddy Holder once shouted - well almost!
The annual TBS Christmas Market is now here with all the fun activities back by popular demand. Make sure you visit The Hub for some festive food, cake and drink. You might even find a pizza that’s deep and crisp and even, before heading into the newly refurbished Main Hall (thank you to the PTFA) where you will find lots of local stall holders to tempt you into an early Christmas present or three.
The Gym will hold all the activities to keep your sons and daughters happy while you shop - they can even pet the ‘Kew Little Pigs’ and take a selfie! So enjoy the visit to the winter wonderland that is the TBS Christmas Market and don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket with a meal for two, a luxury Christmas hamper and a hydra facial to name but a few prizes up for grabs.

Exploring the Galapagos IslandsLucy’s story. I started my journey in Quito, Ecuador’s capital, surrounded bymountains and snow-capped volcanoes. Quito is 2850 metres above sea level, sotake it easy to start and drink lots of water. This sprawling city has plenty toadmire - ancient paved streets, colonial churches, buzzing plazas and regalgovernment buildings. Walk up to El Panecillo, The Virgin of Quito Statue, fromwhere there are views across the whole city. Nearby Otavalo’s colourful marketsand the Mindo Cloud Forest with its butterflies, orchids and birds, provide adeeper insight into life in Ecuador. A short flight from Quito are the GalapagosIslands. I boarded the recently refurbished Odyssey, my vessel for the next fivenights. With only nine cabins it is small enough to easily travel around the smallislands. The food was delicious. Bonds and friendships were quickly formedamong guests as we all dined and explored the islands together. The GalapagosIslands, of course, are famous for their unique nature and wildlife. Every day weexplored a different island, each very diverse. We visited the Charles DarwinResearch Station to learn about the conservation plan ….. To be continued.

It’s clear the role of the PTFA has never been so important, with yet more funding cuts to education, our schools are having to magic funds from other sources. Last year we are
proud to say we supported our school with providing new chairs, GCSE learning pod, Digital Theatre, picnic benches, new floor and stage in the Hall (this was a three/four year project!), Summer Awards, TV monitors and this year we have already funded new books
for the Business Studies/ICT GCSE course. Our school does a fantastic job teaching our students with the resources they have, lets
