!DINNER

Dinner time is the perfect time to connect with your

children. You can help feed their mind, body and soul

through the prayers of thanksgiving said before eating a

delicious meal and through personal conversations

shared about the day’s events.

The parental engagement fostered during your frequent

family, dinners can also help keep your kids substance

free. More than a decade of research by CASAColum-

bia (The National Center on Addiction and Substance

Abuse at Columbia University) has consistently found

that the more often kids eat dinner with their families,

the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs.

Once again, the Archdiocese of Hartford is participating

in this national campaign. Family Day launched by CA-

SAColumbia in 2001. This program reminds parents

and guardians that what your kids really want at the din-

ner table is YOU!

across the country, visit: www.CASAFamilyDay.org or
