For each car, truck or van, running or not, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will give back to our church $50-$100 per vehicle. Maybe you don’t have a vehicle, but a family member, friend or neighbor has an old or neglected vehicle in their driveway that they would like to dispose of. Call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at 718-491-2525. St. Rita’s Church received $75 for a donated vehicle. Thank you!

TOURING TUESDAY Considering a Catholic Elementary School for your child? Are you interested in learning more about Catholic Schools serving children in Grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 in Staten Island? Register to visit a Catholic school on Touring Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 9-11am or by appointment. Touring Tuesdays are universal open houses scheduled periodically throughout the school at Catholic elementary schools across the Archdiocese of New York. Pre-registration is required. St. Rita School is collecting nonperishable boxed and canned food for Holy Family’s Food Pantry from November 3-21, 2014. Some suggested items are: rice, soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables, stuffing, gravy, juice (apple, cranberry, etc.), pancake mix, Chef Boy R Dee, tuna, Mac and Cheese, jar sauce, syr-up, oatmeal, jelly, peanut butter, coffee, and tea. Please bring your donations to the school from 8:00am until 12:00pm.

ALTAR SERVERS St. Rita School and CCD students in the 6th, 7th or 8th grades wishing to become Altar Servers are asked to please call Mary Grace Liss at the parish office. Altar Serving counts for Community Service.

CALLING ALL WOMEN The Ladies of Charity will gather for Mass on Saturday, November 22nd at 9am, followed by a meeting in the Parish Center. Please bring non-perishable canned or boxed food for Holy Family’s Food Pantry. Skeins of wool would also be appreciated as some of the ladies will crochet and knit layette sets for Richmond University Medical Center, and lap blankets for our local nursing homes. Nightfever NYC is coming back to St Patrick’s Cathedral on November 21, 2014. During the month of All Souls, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral (50th St. & 5th Ave.) will be hosting this Nightfever so that we will have the opportunity to pray before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament as well as light candles to honor our Lord.
