Thought for the week… “Perfect families do not exist. This must not discourage

us. Quite the opposite. Love is something we learn; love is

something we live; love grows as it is ‘forged’ by the

concrete situations which each particular family

experiences. Love is born and constantly develops amid

lights and shadows.”

― Pope Francis

Questions for the week: A great change is coming. We have been told in many ways that the event is inevitable; and in some accounts, we have seen previews of what that change will look like. Besides living an obedient life, loving God and our neighbor, we are told to be watchful and ready. Does our experience of change hold hope for the way we will accept the change of God’s plans? How do we face change in our lives? Do we try to control things to keep them as they are, or are we open to the new growth that often comes with change? These readings today call and challenge us to be open to the promise of the new life God offers us today and in the end time. Who are some people you have known who have experienced overwhelming pain? How have they met that pain? How does their response

correspond with the words of today’s Scriptures? Who are the people in your life who have helped you accept change? What have they said or done to help you? How can their example lead you

to help others? What changes will you make in your life to be sure that each day you are ready for Jesus’ return?

For Next Week
