GOSPEL: Matthew 23:1-12 Today's gospel reminds us that the good exam-ple of one person can have far reaching effects. The advice Jesus gives is that our lives--not just our words--should bring the good news to others. In other words, we should practice what we preach. When we fail to do this, we rob our beliefs of their power to affect others. Think of the early Christian martyrs whose example of faith led others to Christ. 1.) What does it mean when Jesus says about the religious leaders of his day "their words are bold but their deeds are few?" 2.) Recall people in your own life who have brought you closer to God. What does Jesus say about ser-vice? About humility? 3.) How will you act so that your life can be a mes-sage of faith to everyone you meet?
EVANGELIO: Mateo 23:1-12 El evangelio de hoy nos recuerda que el buen ejemplo de una persona puede tener efectos durade-ros. El consejo que Jesús da es que nuestras vidas, no sólo nuestras palabras, pueden traer bondad a otros. En otras palabras, podemos practicar lo que predicamos. Cuando fallamos en esto, robamos a nuestra fe el poder de influir en otros. Piensa en los primeros mártires cristianos cuyo ejemplo de fe guió a otros cristianos. 1.) ¿Cuál es el significado de estas palabras que Jesús dijo a los líderes religiosos: "muchas son sus palabras pero pocas son sus obras"? 2.) Piensa en personas en tu vida que te han acercado a Dios. ¿Qué dice Jesús de servir a otros? ¿Qué dice Jesús sobre la humildad? 3.) ¿Cómo actuarás para que tu vida pueda ser un mensaje de fe a todo aquel con quien te encuentres?

Coming Up Soon: Centennial Celebration Gala: You are cordially invited to cele-
brate our parish’s Centennial on Saturday, November 19th.
Please help spread the word to Epiphany’s friends, parishioners and alumni! The afternoon will begin at 4:00pm with a Mass at Epiphany, which will be fol-lowed by a reception at the South San Fran-cisco Convention Center at 6:00pm—with dinner and dancing with a live band. ALL
proceeds will benefit the Parish Debt Fund. Reservations are now being taken. Please

of the century!
International Night 2011: It’s that wonderful time of year again! This
coming Saturday, November 5th, we will be having our 14th Annual International Night Dinner! Dur-
ing this evening, we have an all you can eat menu of: African-American , Chinese, Fili-pino, Hispanic, Irish food and dessert! In addition to the great food, we have amazing entertainment from different cultures. This is one of the wonderful ways we celebrate our diversity. This is the parish’s largest fund-raiser. If you have never been to one, we hope you will join us this year! We are also asking for your help. We are asking for raffle prizes. Please contact the Parish Office. Din-ner tickets for adults are $25 and $12 for children under 12 years of age. Raffle tickets are $25 for a booklet of 6. The first prize will be $2,000!! Dinner and Raffle tickets will be on sale outside after Mass!
All Saints Day: All Saints Day will be on Tuesday, Novem-ber 1st. It is not a Holy Day of Obligation. Our Masses will be at: 6:30am, 8:00am., and 11:00am (School Mass).
Memorial Mass: Epiphany’s Grief Ministry invites you to a Memorial Mass in memory of all who have died since last All Souls Day. The Mass will be on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7:00pm, in the church. Join us in praying for our de-ceased loved ones.
Announcements: Centennial Plan—
End Parish Debt:
Thank You! $156,926 has now been pledged
to the Centennial Anniversary Plan to end the parish debt. This will enable Church of the Epiphany to expand ministries and services for youth, families, seniors and the needy.
Father Eugene Tungol and the Fi-nance Council thanks all those who
have pledged and asks every parish-ioner to support this important ap-
peal.
On November 19th, we will cele-brate the Centennial Anniversary of
Church of the Epiphany.
We are trying to raise as much as possible to finally end our parish
debt of $300,000.
Next week information will be avail-able for all parishioners who have not
yet pledged. ANY PLEDGE—REGARDLESS OF
THE AMOUNT—IS WELCOME AND VERY MUCH NEEDED.
Pledges can be made in one payment or over 12, 24, or 36 months.
If you wish to make a pledge today after mass, a committee volunteer is
available at a table outside. Thank you!
Flag Procession:
The Centennial Mass on November 19, at 4 o'clock in the evening will begin with a procession of the flags that represent the nationalities of our parishioners. If you would like to be a flag bearer and can at-tend the rehearsal on Thursday, November 17th at 7:00pm, please contact:

For Your Information: All Souls Day:
All Souls Day will be on Wednesday, No-vember 2nd. Masses will be at 6:30am, 8:00am, and 7:00pm. Offering envelopes are available at the entrances of the church.

¡Ya está por llegar! El sábado 5 de noviembre celebraremos nuestra Cena Internacional! Esa noche podrá deleitarse sirvién-
dose comidas típicas de la cultura afroamerica-na, china, filipina, latinoamericana e irlandesa, así como deliciosos postres cuantas veces quie-ra. Además gozará de entretenimiento presen-tando las diferentes culturas étnicas que compo-nen nuestra familia parroquial. Es una noche en la que celebramos la diversidad de nuestra co-munidad. Es también la actividad principal en la que recaudamos fondos para nuestra parro-quia. Esperamos contar con su presencia, espe-cialmente si nunca ha asistido a una en el pasa-do. Estamos pidiendo su ayuda para donaciones de premios para la rifa. Por favor comuníquen-se con la Oficina Parroquial. Marque la fecha en su calendario! Celebración del Dí a de Todos los Santos:
El Día de Todos los Santos será el martes 1o
de noviembre y por lo tanto no es fiesta de guardar. Las misas se celebrarán como de costumbre a las 6:30am, 8:00am, y 11:00am.
Misa del Dí a de los Difuntos:
Invitamos a todos a las 7:00pm. Esta misa es auspiciada por el Ministerio de Consolación de la parroquia. Ayúdenos a que asistan a la Misa Anual del Día de los Difuntos el mier-coles 2 de noviembre, a honrar a todos los difuntos en este día especial.
