ORGANIZING COMMITTEE:
Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline
that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the
physical and naturally built environment, including works like
roads, bridges, canals, dams and buildings.
The development of a nation is analysed based on its
commercial and infrastructure growth for which we need to
implement new technologies and innovations in the field of Civil
Engineering. India, being one of the fastest growing economies in
the world, a tremendous advancement in infrastructure is
mandatory to maintain the pace of such economical and scientific
growth.
Construction and infrastructure activities being carried out in
a large scale with limited resources, a vision towards the use of
alternate materials and modern techniques is inevitable. To
implement this state, we require the advancement of technologies
and processes in the field of Structural design, Geo-technical
investigations, Highways and Pavements, Environmental
analysis and Geographic Information Systems.
International conference on Advances in Civil Engineering
Materials and Processes (ICACEMAP 2015) provides
opportunities for academicians, students, researchers and
industrialists from all over the world to meet and share their
contribution to the development of Civil Engineering and discuss
the latest breakthrough globally.
This conference also provides opportunity for the delegates
to exchange new ideas and application experiences to establish
business or research relations and to find global partners for
future collaboration in various fields of Civil Engineering
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) is a Government
Aided Autonomous Institute, affiliated to Anna University,
Chennai. It was started in the year 1956 by Late. Shri. V.
Rangaswamy Naidu. The campus is situated at a distance of 8 km
to the east of Coimbatore city in Salem-Kochi Highway running
north of it. The Civil Aerodrome is about 3 km to its east. The
campus area is about 70 acres with a well developed
infrastructure and facilities. The Institute has become a centre for
academic and research excellence in various disciplines of
Engineering and Technology.
The institution is running B.E. degree programmes in Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Science
branches of Engineering, B.Tech. degree programmes in
Chemical Engineering and Information Technology, Part-Time
B.E., degree programmes in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and
Electronics branches, B.Sc. degree programmes in Computer
Systems and Design (CSD) and Information Technology (IT).
The Institute is also running Post Graduate courses in Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering. M.C.A., M.Sc.
(CSD), M.Sc. (Software Systems) and M.Phil. in Physics and
Chemistry are some of the other programmes offered by the
Institute.
The Institute is recognized by Anna University, Chennai for
Ph.D., Research work in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical
Engineering and Chemistry. The Institute is authorized as a
Training Centre by AUTODESK, USA, for imparting AutoCAD
courses at different levels. Apart from handling classes for
undergraduate and post graduate programmes, the faculty are
involved in Research and Consultancy works. More details about

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
The Civil Engineering Department is one of the largest departments of the Institute. The Department of Civil Engineering was started way back in 1956 and has been making strides in various disciplines of the Civil Engineering field.

Theoretical investigations are going on in the area of Finite element analysis of Satellite launch vehicle, Brick in-filled high rise plane R.C frames, shell and plate structures under static and dynamic and computer aided analysis of concrete mix design. Experimental investigations are going on in the areas of brick in- filled high rise plane frames, Corrosion of steel in R.C. structures, Fibre reinforced composites, Low cost prefabricated R.C. elements in Mix Design of high strength concrete and Earthquake resistant Design of structures.
The department offers extensive consultancy services in soil exploration, determination of bearing capacity of soil and hard strata, topographical surveying including contouring, analysis and design of concrete and steel structures including bridges, analysis of transmission towers, water analysis, testing of highway materials and environmental pollution studies for many private and government agencies.
The department also has facilities for commercial testing of all building material and soil sample for their physical and mechanical properties, water and sewage analysis and pump efficiency test. Structural Engineering, Strength of Materials, Survey, Hydraulic Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Computers, Highway and pavement Engineering and Geology laboratories are available. The Department has its own well- equipped computer centre. The packages such as ANSYS, STAAD Pro, STRUDS, SAP, ETABS, MS PROJECT and PRIMAVERA are also available.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Coimbatore, the cotton city of South India, (called as
Manchester of South India) is a vibrant industrial centre. Located
in the state of TamilNadu, in the lap of Western Ghats, the
mountainous region surrounding the city has a high concentration
of coffee and tea estates. The city is a major producer of castings,
electric motors, pump sets, textiles, hosiery, garments, textile
durable, cutting tools, paper mill machinery, control valves and
many other engineering products. Coimbatore is a centre of
higher learning.
There are many Universities and engineering colleges,
numerous arts and science colleges in and around Coimbatore.
Well connected with the major cities in India by Air, Rail and Road,
there are flights to Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi in the
domestic sector, Sharjah in the Middle East and Singapore in the
international sector.
The state of Tamil Nadu is renowned for its ancient cultural
heritage. Its distinct temple architecture is one of the acclaimed
tourist attractions. Marvellously sculptured “Gopurams” adorn the
entrances of the temples. The temple cities - Madurai,
Kancheepuram, Trichy, Tanjavur, Rameswaram and
Chidambaram are located a few hundred kilometers from
Coimbatore.
Coimbatore enjoys a salubrious climate all through the year.
The average day temperature during January will be ranging
between 20º C - 27º C. The city is surrounded by a number of
tourist spots, which include Ooty, the Queen of hill stations is just
85 kms from Coimbatore. Kodaikanal, Valparai and Munnar hill
stations are also located near by. Mudhumalai is a very famous
wildlife sanctuary located near Ooty.
Apart from technical sessions, sightseeing trips can be
arranged to any of the above mentioned places on request .

ABOUT COIMBATORE
Research papers, articles and case studies are invited from
the authors to present and exchange their insights on the recent
developments in the Materials and processes involved in various
fields of Civil Engineering, Concept papers are also invited from
academicians and practitioners for sharing new ideas and
philosophical thoughts. The above can be sent as a paper not
exceeding eight pages of A4 size.
All Submissions will be peer reviewed; authors are
requested to refer the conference website for detailed author
guidelines for submission of papers.
Based on both presentation and technical content, the best
papers will be chosen by the organizing committee in consultation
with advisory committee in each topic for the best paper award.
The paper must be original and should not have been
accepted / published in any journal or conference proceedings.
Members from international panel of experts will review each
paper. Author (s) shall be notified of the decision as soon as the
review process is completed. A softcopy of the full paper shall be
uploaded in the conference website : www.icacemap2015.com
Detailed instructions about the paper are provided in the
conference website. Against each accepted paper, at least one
author should register and present the paper in person.
Selected best quality papers presented in the conference,
based on the recommendations of the referees, are considered
for publication in Scopus Indexed International Journal of Earth
Science and Engineering (IJEE).
