The film title ‘Seed of Chucky’ suggests the child or offspring of chucky and his wife.

As well as this there is a hand reaching out of a pram with a baby toy in hand, with spikes. Not only does this show the new centre of the film but also connotes that this character will be as evil as the last or equally dangerous and will continue their parents rain of terror.

Across the top of the poster the main actors and actresses names are shown. However Chucky and Tiffany is shown which is different to regular horror films as it’s not typical to include character names.

The use of black and red can connote danger and death which, as shown in the previous films.

I believe the intended audience would be from late teens to young adults as it contains older content and some graphic content not suited for children. As well as this the comedy side to this film will also be for an older audiences understanding.

This film also contains a source of fear, unexpected situations and the characters behaviour and attitude which are all codes and conventions of comedy horror films.

A star is not used as the USP, however I believe the ‘seed’ of chucky can be viewed as the USP as it is a new selling point in the chucky franchise.

In this film poster the element of comedy can’t be directly seen. However the horror can as the slogan ‘there's something in the water’ shows where the threat is coming from.

As well as this the piranhas which are the threat in this film can be seen towards the bottom of the water. The use of dark blues and black and emphasises the threat of the piranhas and how murderous they look.

A code or convention shown in this poster could be ordinary people or unexpected situations as the victims of this film are ordinary citizens and it could be unexpected as these piranhas are prehistoric.

At the top of the poster it also shows a film that the director did, which could suggest that the director is a high end one or has experience in the horror genre. As well as this a film the producer has worked on is also shown and could add credibility to the film.

I don’t believe that a star is used as a USP as there is no clear names listed and there does not appear to be any stars shown on the poster. Where as only a single woman is shown here.

The message appears to be mostly visual although the slogan does add to the topic of the film and the film poster theme.

The film shows two films they intend to make fun of having the characters shown here like Hannibal Lecter shown at the back recreating a scene from the film with popcorn.

Because of these characters the audience is also given an idea as to what type of horror and gore will appear within the film.

A star could be used as a USP as the main characters are shown on the front and their names are not listed which could suggest that they’re well known.

However, this is the second film of 4 which could suggest that these are reoccurring actors.

I think that the message is primarily visual as the basis of the films theme is shown in the characters or which characters they have chosen to base the mocking on in this film.

Although the slogan ‘the movie that dares you to come’ is shown it does not give a message about the film but rather encourages the audience to watch it.

I believe this is a good poster as it presents the themes and characters clearly and I don’t believe that this poster could be viewed as offensive.
