The city has multiple attributes that the Holesome Doughnut Company finds desirable. The plant will open 700 jobs for locals and help boost the city’s economy. More than 100 families are expected to work for the company. “We believe that the future of America, like its past, lies in small towns like this. We want to be an integral part of this community and make it just as prosperous as it should be,” said Holesome Company President Lonny Joe Underwood, an Alabama native who once owned a grocery store in Repton.

REPTON, Ala. – The Holesome Donut Company announced today that company

officials have decided to build a new plant in Repton, Ala.

After two years of Repton city officials bargaining for the new plant, Repton has

been chosen out of all its competitors. The city has multiple attributes that the

Holesome Doughnut Company finds desirable.

The current unemployment rate in Repton is 14 percent, which is slightly below

the state average. The plant will open 700 jobs for locals and help boost the city’s

economy. More than 100 families are expected to work for the company.

The $3 million construction is scheduled to being on March 31. The completion

date is expected to be Nov. 15, but the plant won’t be in full operation until the

beginning of the following year. The factory will make and package doughnuts

that will be shipped all over Alabama.
