COLLABORATIVE PROCESS

We each had 3 very different ideas Wanted a project that was practical

and feasible, but challenging Brainstormed using our common

interests and resources

BRAINSTORMING

Individual ideas coming together Sawyer (2007) p. 61

Osborn’s study: Increase effectiveness from individual brainstorming ideas collaboratively put together

We adopted that approach to our project. We had our own ideas and met together

to make our grand idea work “Brainstorming is the most popular

creativity technique of all time” (Sawyer, p. 60)

TRUST

We trusted the respective collaboration organizations to come through for us. Homework House to fulfill commitment to

bring kids to the clinics Trusted each other to connect with our

organizations to make the project possible. We trusted that the teams would

organize the clinics. Did not know the extent the activities

We trusted each other to complete the project with the power point presentation and video.

Who’s Line Is It Anyway?

Improvised selecting which sports and clinics to organize Gave full rein of the running of the clinics

to the athletics teams Rain became a factor as far as

bringing the kids to APU No solidified contingency plan was

made because weather was unpredictable based upon 5-day forecast Impromptu transportation was devised

Page 17: COMMUNITY COLLABORATION PROJECT Drew Evans, Bob Johansen, Isak Yoon November 8, 2010.

GROUP FLOW

All members participating in the clinic, the athletes, the kids, the directors and organizers, bought into the objective behind the clinics and fully engaged

Blending egos Constant communication through e-

mail or in person Equal participation
