Brief Overview

Mech-Tool Engineering Ltd [MTE] is a technology company with a global reputation for the protection of people

and equipment from fire, blast and radiant heat hazards in on-shore and off-shore oil & gas, nuclear,

renewable energy and petrochemical industries.

We devote a unique wealth of specialist skills and 50 years’ experience to design, build and deliver individual

and dependable solutions.

Mission & Values

MTE strives to use its expertise and experience to provide reliable solutions to protect people and equipment

from explosion, heat, and fire hazards.

The company provides design and engineering consultancy services for hydrocarbon fire and blast rated

structures. It also supplies bespoke turnkey solutions for ranges of Modular, Firewall and Blast wall

products.

The company seeks to conduct its business activities with a highly professional and ethical approach at

all times. MTE aims to foster for all its staff, safe and agreeable working conditions, a supportive and friendly

culture and a stimulating and rewarding working environment.

Company Facilities

MTE provide one of the UK's foremost facilities for the preparation, fabrication and surface preparation of

Modular and Fire & Blast Protection Equipment enabling us to serve our clients on a worldwide basis.

Our internationally recognised fire and blast testing has enabled us to develop innovative engineering

solutions with techniques and software fully validated by third party authorities.

Darlington

The 7200m2 production facility and outside storage area

at our Darlington site ensure that we are equipped to

cater for the widest variety of work possible.

Supporting the production facilities are our

administrative, sales, estimating, in-house design and

state-of-the-art engineering functions, housed within

1700m2 of dedicated office space at our Darlington

facility.

Riverside facility (Middlesbrough)

The 11000m2, 35m high covered riverside facility with

three 20 tonne overhead cranes located by the River

Tees, in Nearby Middlesbrough, has the flexibility to

assemble modules up to 33m long x 20m wide x 480

tonnes. These are loaded out on to barges for shipping

to their final destination.

Mech-Tool Korea, Busan

MTK’s design, engineering, sales, estimating and

administration functions are independent to the 6200m2

production facility in the Busan region.

The facility provides a large flexible unit to cater for a

wide variety of work with easy access to all main routes

and nearby construction yards.

MANAGEMENT POLICY/OBJECTIVES AND VALUES SHEQ Policy Statement based on the requirements of the business, ISO9001 & the MTE QMS

Construction Products Regulations (EU) No. 305/2011.

Safety, Health & Environmental Statement

The Health, Safety & Environmental Manual and all associated procedures detail the lines of responsibility and communications for Health, Safety & Environmental matters and the company’s requirements for revisions to be brought to the notice of all company employees, other interested parties and the General Public. It is the responsibility of the CEO (Managing Director) and the Executive Team to ensure enough financial resources are made available to meet the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environmental management systems and their associated procedures and to also ensure the efficient implementation as required by the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HSWA), the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Management Health and Safety at Work regulations and any other legislation and regulations applicable to our company’s activities. This legislation provides the minimum standard required to ensure compliance with Health; Safety & Environmental law, the aim throughout the company is to exceed these minimum standards. It is the duty and responsibility, or where appropriately delegated by the CEO (Managing Director) of the company to ensure that this Health, Safety, Environmental Policy and its associated Procedures, along with any relevant revisions, are implemented and maintained (by annual monitoring and auditing). To ensure that any deviations, or consistent refusal to follow this Health, Safety & Environmental Policy and associated processes/procedures, are brought to the attention of the Managing Director for the decision as to the appropriate action to be taken.

MTE Products & Key Service Areas

Highly accurate designs, engineering and cost projections at FEED stage using bespoke and fully validated MTE design tools and systems. MTE’s early involvement on projects has proved particularly effective in optimum weight and cost savings for operators and EPC’s.

50 years of knowledge and experience; all MTE fully certified fire and blast walls are designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied to provide the most cost-effective and weight optimised solution to the specific requirements of each individual project however challenging. MTE ventilated heat shield, solar shield and wind wall cladding designs are proven and provide protection for people and equipment against the effects of radiant heat and extreme weather.

For five decades MTE has pioneered the design of modules providing fire and blast protection. Using MTE

latest technology and modelling techniques modules can be cost effectively purpose designed to meet the

clients’ specified explosion, seismic, thermal, fire and acoustic performance criteria.
