GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES: (NOT ALL NOTES ARE USED WITH THIS PROJECT)

1. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, DIMENSIONS ARE TO COLUMN CENTERLINE; CENTER OF NEW INTERIOR GYPSUM BOARD PARTITIONS; INSIDE FACE OF EXTERIOR WALLS; FACE OF MASONRY WALLS AND FACE OF EXISTING WALLS.

2. ALL WORK TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN COMPLIANCE WITH STATE AND LOCAL CODES AND THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.

3. ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING SHALL BE DONE BY THE CONTRACTOR AS OUTLINED IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS. PATCHES IN FINISH SURFACES SHALL MATCH THE ADJACENT SURFACES IN MATERIAL, FINISH AND QUALITY AND SHALL EXTEND TO AN INSIDE OR OUTSIDE CORNER AS REQUIRED TO MATCH THE ADJACENT FINISHES.

4. NEW WORK EXTENDING EXISTING CONDITIONS SHALL ALIGN WITH AND MATCH EXISTING WORK EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE DIMENSIONED OR DETAILED.

5. ALL SOUND RATED WALLS OR PARTITIONS AND ALL CMU WALLS SHALL EXTEND TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE STRUCTURE OR DECK ABOVE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. THESE PARTITIONS SHALL BE ENTIRELY SEALED OFF WITH CLOSURE GASKETS AND/OR ACOUSTICAL SEALANT AT BOTTOM, TOP, SIDES AND ANY OTHER ABUTMENT WHERE A SOUND LEAK WOULD OTHERWISE OCCUR. ALL PENETRATIONS SUCH AS PIPING, CONDUITS, DUCTS,ETC., IN SUCH PARTITIONS SHALL BE PACKED AND SEALED ALONG THE PERIMETER OF THE PENETRATION WITH MATERIALS TO PROVIDE THE SPECIFIED STC RATING FOR THE WALL ASSEMBLY.

6. IN THE CASE OF NON-RATED SOUND OR FIRE PARTITIONS, CARRY METAL STUDS AND GYPSUM BOARD TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE STRUCTURE OR DECK UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

7. IN THE CASE OF NON-RATED SOUND OR FIRE PARTITIONS, CARRY METAL STUDS TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CEILING, WITH A CLOSURE GASKET BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE PARTITION AND THE CEILING WHERE NOTED.

8. IN THE CASE OF NON-RATED SOUND OR FIRE PARTITIONS, CARRY METAL STUDS TO THE STRUCTURE ABOVE, AND HOLD THE GYPSUM BOARD TO 4" MINIMUM ABOVE THE FINISHED CEILING WHERE NOTED.

9. CONSTRUCT ALL WALLS BETWEEN PATIENT ROOMS AND BETWEEN PATIENT ROOMS AND CORRIDORS TO A MINIMUM STC RATING OF 45 AND TO A MINIMUM STC RATING OF 50 BETWEEN ANY PATIENT ROOM WALL ADJOINING A SERVICE OR PUBLIC SPACE UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

10. ALL WOOD BLOCKING TO BE FIRE RETARDANT.

11. INSTALL CONTINUOUS 16 GAUGE GALVANIZED METAL STRAPPING WITH A MINIMUM WIDTH OF 6" FOR ALL HANDRAILS, GRAB BARS, OTHER ACCESSORIES, FIXTURES, BRACKETS, OFCI ITEMS AND MISCELLANEOUS SPECIALTIES UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

12. ALL WALLS RECEIVING CABINETS, TV'S AND MONITORS SHALL HAVE GAL. MTL STRAPPING PROVIDED BETWEEN STUDS FOR INSTALLATION. BLOCKING FOR TV'S AND MONITORS SHALL BE 16 GA. METAL STRAPPING, WITH THE CENTERLINE AT 7'-0" ABOVE THE FINISHED FLOOR, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED OR DETAILED.

13. DUE TO MANUFACTURER'S VARIATION WITH SIZE OF EQUIPMENT, CASEWORK, PLUMBING FIXTURES, ETC., ALL DIMENSIONS REFERRING TO THE SPACE WHERE SUCH ITEMS ARE BUILT-IN SHALL BE VERIFIED WITH THE ITEM SUPPLIED.

14. ALL WORK SHALL BE BE INSTALLED IN A FIRST CLASS WORKMAN LIKE MANNER.

15. ALL RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION AREAS ARE TO BE ENCLOSED BY APPROVED, TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION BARRIERS AND WALK OFF MATS TO BE PROVIDED ON BOTH SIDES OF CONSTRUCTION AREA ENTRANCE TO CONTROL DUST.

16. WELDING, SOLDERING AND OTHER SMOKE-PRODUCING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES ARE PERMITTED INSIDE THE BUILDING WHEN APPROVED BY THE OWNER (HOT WORK PERMIT REQUIRED) AND WHEN PROPER MEASURES ARE TAKEN TO PREVENT FUMES FROM CIRCULATING WITHIN THE BUILDING. WHEN WELDING, SOLDERING OR PERFORMING ANY OTHER CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WHICH MAY PRODUCE SMOKE OR FUMES WITHIN THEBUILDING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL UTILIZE A PORTABLE FUME COLLECTOR TO CAPTURE FUMES AT THEIR POINT OF ORIGIN. THE PORTABLE FUME COLLECTOR SHALL BE EQUIVALENT TO DIVERSITECH POLLUTION SOLUTIONS MODEL 'FRED JR.' WHICH IS CAPABLE OF COLLECTING 900 CFM AT 2600 FPM PICK-UP VELOCITY, AT A MINIMUM, AND IS EQUIPPED WITH A CARBON IMPREGNATED POLYESTER GAS ABSORBER AND A 99.97% HEPA FILTER.

17. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FOR ALL INTERIM LIFE SAFETY CONTROL MEASURES REQUIRED BY THE OWNER DURING CONSTRUCTION IN ADDITION TO ANY AND ALL REQUIREMENTS THAT MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS.

18. REMOVE AND REPLACE ANY ABSORBENT MATERIAL THAT BECOMES WET, THAT CANNOT BE TOTALLY DRIED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF INCIDENT, WITH NEW MATERIALS. ABSORBENT MATERIALS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, GYPSUM BOARD, INSULATION, CARPET, AND CEILING TILE.

19. THE PREFERRED METHOD FOR REMOVING CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS IS SECURED DEBRIS CARTS. DEBRIS CARTS MUST BE SEALED DURING TRANSPORT THROUGH OCCUPIED AREAS OF THE BUILDING. PERMISSION OF THE OWNER MUST BE OBTAINED BEFORE TRANSPORTING CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS THROUGH OCCUPIED AREAS. DEBRIS MAY ONLY BE TRANSPORTED ON A SPECIFIC ROUTE APPROVED BY THE OWNER AND AT TIMESDESIGNATED BY THE OWNER.

20. ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE NFPA 241 STANDARD FOR SAFEGUARDING CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, AND DEMOLITION OPERATIONS, LATEST EDITION, UNLESS A MORE STRINGENT REQUIREMENT IS INCLUDED IN THE LOCAL CODES AND/OR CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.

21. THE NEW OR RENOVATED CONSTRUCTION IS TO BE UNDER POSITIVE PRESSURE RELATIVE TO THE EXTERIOR UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ELSEWHERE.

FINISH NOTES:

1. IN AREAS REQUIRING NEW WORK AND PATCHING, EXISTING FINISHES SHOWN IN THE FINISH SCHEDULE AND ON THE PLANS ARE TO BE VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND ANY DISCREPANCIES IMMEDIATELY CALLED TO THE ARCHITECT'S ATTENTION. ALL NEW FLOOR, BASE, WAINSCOT, WALL AND CEILING FINISHES SHALL MATCH THE EXISTING FINISHES, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

2. FOR EXISTING CEILING PATCHING, WHERE CEILING IS CUT OUT OR PORTIONS REMOVED FOR REMOVAL OF EXISTING DEVICES OR INSTALLATION OF NEW WORK, THE DISTURBED PORTION SHALL BE PATCHED TO MATCH THE EXISTING CEILING FINISH. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE ENTIRE CEILING AREA IS TO BE REPAINTED WHERE CEILINGS ARE GYPSUM BOARD OR PLASTER.

3. ALL FREESTANDING COLUMNS IN A ROOM SHALL RECEIVE THE SAME FINISH AS THE ROOM WALL, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

4. WHERE NEW FINISHES ARE APPLIED TO EXISTING, THE EXISTING FINISHES SHALL BE REMOVED AND/OR THE EXISTING SURFACES PREPARED AS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. WHERE REQUIRED TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEW FINISHES, THE MECHANICAL, PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL TRADES SHALL DISCONNECT AND REMOVE THEIR RESPECTIVE DEVICES AND ITEMS FROM THE EXISTING WALL, CEILINGAND/OR FLOOR AND RELOCATE TO THEIR FINAL POSITION IN THE NEW CONSTRUCTION. SUCH DEVICES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO ELECTRICAL SWITCHES, PANELS, OUTLETS, THERMOSTATS, GRILLS, PLUMBING FIXTURES, MEDICAL GAS OUTLETS ETC. THE RESPECTIVE TRADE SHALL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PERMANENT CONNECTIONS OF THOSE ITEMS WHICH ARE RELOCATED.

5. WHERE WALL SURFACES ARE PATCHED TO MATCH THE EXISTING, THE NEW FINISH (PAINT, VINYL WALL FABRIC, ETC.) SHALL BE APPLIED TO THE NEAREST CORNER OR BREAK IN THE WALL PLANE, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

6. WHERE EXISTING WALLS ARE TO RECEIVE A NEW FINISH, ANY EXISTING PAINTED ITEMS IN OR ON THE WALL (DOORS, DOOR FRAMES, ELECTRICAL PANELS, ETC.) SHALL BE REPAINTED TO MATCH OR COORDINATE WITH THE NEW FINISH, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

7. IN AREAS THAT HAVE AN EXISTING FLUSH FLOOR FINISH OF QUARRY TILE OR CERAMIC TILE AND ARE NOTED TO RECEIVE A RESILIENT FLOOR TILE, SHEET VINYL OR GLUE DOWN CARPET FINISH, THE CERAMIC/QUARRY TILE SHALL BE REMOVED ALONG WITH ANY LOOSE SETTING BED MATERIAL, AND THE AREA SHALL BE LEVELED WITH SELF LEVELING CEMENT BASED UNDERLAYMENT IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEW FINISH.

8. IN AREAS THAT HAVE AN EXISTING FLOOR FINISH OF RESILIENT FLOOR TILE OR CARPET AND ARE TO RECEIVE A NEW CERAMIC OR QUARRY TILE FLOOR, THE FLOORING AND ADHESIVE SHALL BE REMOVED IN PREPARATION FOR SUCH NEW HARD TILE.

9. PLASTER WALLS IN AN EXISTING BUILDING THAT ARE TO RECEIVE CERAMIC WALL TILE SHALL HAVE THE PLASTER REMOVED FROM EXISTING WALLS TO THE HEIGHT OF THE NEW CERAMIC WALL TILE IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEW SETTING BED AND CEMENT BOARD SHALL BE INSTALLED AND PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.

10. PLASTER OR GYPSUM WALLBOARD WALLS IN AN EXISTING BUILDING FROM WHICH VINYL WALL FABRIC IS REMOVED, SHALL BE CLEANED OF ALL ADHESIVE AND A SKIM COAT OF PLASTER APPLIED TO RECEIVE THE NEW FINISH.

11. IN ALL ROOMS SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES OR MILLWORK THAT IS TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES, EXISTING FIXTURES, DEVICES, HARDWARE AND ACCESSORIES SHALL BE TEMPORARILY REMOVED AS REQUIRED TO ALLOW THE NEW FINISH TO EXTEND UNDER OR BEHIND THE FIXTURE OR ACCESSORY AND THEN RESET.

12. ALL PENETRATIONS IN EXISTING AND NEWLY CONSTRUCTED WALLS OR BARRIERS TO BE SEALED WITH APPROVED SEALANT.

TEMPORARY PARTITIONS:

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY PARTITIONS AS REQUIRED TO ISOLATE CONSTRUCTION AREAS FROM AREAS TO REMAIN UNDISTURBED, AND SHALL COORDINATE THEIR EXACT LOCATION WITH CMOP REPRESENTATIVES. ADDITIONAL TEMPORARY PARTITIONS OVER THOSE INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATE THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, AND WHERE APPLICABLE, TOISOLATE DIFFERENT PHASES OF THE WORK. COSTS OF ALL TEMPORARY PARTITIONS AND RELATED WORK ARE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACTOR'S CONTRACT.

2. TEMPORARY PARTITIONS SHALL BE OF 1 HOUR MINIMUM FIRE RATED CONSTRUCTION, AND SHALL EXTEND TO THE UNDERSIDE OF STRUCTURE ABOVE, UNLESS THE WORK IS CONFINED TO AN AREA ALREADY ISOLATED FROM OWNER OCCUPIED AREAS BY AN EXISTING UNDISTURBED 1 HOUR WALL. WHEN IN PLACE FOR MORE THAN 14 DAYS, ALL TEMPORARY PARTITIONS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH RUBBER OR VINYL BASE AND A WASHABLEPAINT OR WALL FABRIC COVERING ON THE SIDE OPPOSITE THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. ADJACENT FINISHES SHALL BE REPAIRED AT THE JUNCTION WITH THE TEMPORARY PARTITIONS.

3. MEANS OF EGRESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED FOR THE PUBLIC, STAFF AND CONTRACTORS EMPLOYEES AT ALL TIMES. REQUIRED EXITS AT THE END OF CORRIDORS WHICH ARE ISOLATED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL HAVE AN EGRESS DOOR MAINTAINED AS REQUIRED BY THE BUILDING CODE, AND SHALL HAVE SIGNAGE INDICATING "EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY."

4. ALL TEMPORARY PARTITIONS SHALL BE DUST PROOF AND SEALED AT ALL JUNCTIONS OF DISSIMILAR MATERIALS USING GASKETING MATERIAL. ADEQUATE PRECAUTIONS SHALL ALSO BE TAKEN TO PREVENT DUST AND NOXIOUS VAPORS FROM ENTERING THE RETURN AIR DUCTWORK IN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA.

5. ALL TEMPORARY PARTITIONS SHALL BE SOUND RATED AT A MINIMUM STC RATING OF 45.

TEMPORARY EXTERIOR PASSAGEWAY:

1. EXITING ACCESS MUST BE MAINTAINED DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A 6'-0" WIDE BY 7'-6" HIGH (CLEAR INSIDE) PASSAGEWAY CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING A MINIMUM LIVE LOAD OF 80 POUNDS PER SQUARE FOOT AND AS REQUIRED BY CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS. THE WORK SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF NON-COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS (MINIMUM FIRE RETARDANT WOOD). IT SHALL HAVE A ROOF WITH 90POUND MINERAL SURFACED FELT AND 3'-6" HIGH CLOSED SIDES, WITH 4'-0" HIGH OPENING ABOVE THE CLOSED AREA. CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE PHASED AS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE EXIT ACCESS AND ALLOW FOR CONSTRUCTION. SEE PLANS FOR LOCATION. THE CONSTRUCTION AND METHOD OF PHASING MUST BE APPROVED BY THE OWNER AND ARCHITECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY LIGHTS AND OTHERDEVICES AS MAY BE REQUIRED IN THE PASSAGEWAY.

DEMOLITION NOTES:

1. ALL DEMOLITION WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED WITH "DUE CARE AND DILIGENCE" SO AS TO PREVENT THE ARBITRARY DESTRUCTION OR INTERRUPTION OF CONCEALED UTILITIES WHICH ARE INTENDED TO REMAIN IN USE AND THE ROUTING OF WHICH COULD NOT BE PREDETERMINED UNTIL DEMOLITION WAS STARTED. ALL SUCH DISCOVERIES OF UTILITIES DURING THE DEMOLITION PROCESS WHICH ARE IN A LOCATION DIFFERENT FROMTHAT INDICATED, CHANGE DIRECTION FROM FLOOR TO FLOOR, ETC. OR ARE UNIDENTIFIED SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE ARCHITECT AND OWNER BEFORE REMOVAL.

2. THE DEMOLITION DRAWINGS GENERALLY INDICATE THE REMOVAL OF ITEMS WHICH ARE IN VIEW OR BELIEVED TO BE CONCEALED (SUCH AS EXISTING COLUMNS CONCEALED WITHIN WALLS, ETC.) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROMPTLY NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT AND OWNER, IN WRITING, OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS, BEFORE SUCH CONDITIONS ARE DISTURBED AND BEFORE ANY DELAY OR COST IS INCURRED BY THE CONTRACTOR:A. CONCEALED OR UNKNOWN CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED WHICH DIFFER MATERIALLY FROM THOSE INDICATED OR REASONABLY IMPLIED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.B. CONCEALED PHYSICAL CONDITIONS IN THE EXISTING STRUCTURE OF AN UNUSUAL NATURE.

3. SEE ALL DRAWINGS FOR THE EXTENT OF CUTTING AND PATCHING REQUIREMENTS NECESSITATED BY THAT PORTION OF THE WORK, SUCH AS MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, FIRE PROTECTION, STRUCTURAL AND VENDOR EQUIPMENT DRAWINGS ETC.

4. SEE THE FIRE PROTECTION, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, STRUCTURAL AND VENDOR EQUIPMENT DRAWINGS FOR ADDITIONAL WORK THAT MAY REQUIRE CEILING ACCESS FOR SPECIAL SYSTEMS SUCH AS SMOKE/FIRE ALARM, RANDOM JUNCTION BOXES, ETC. WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN INDICATED ON THE REFLECTED CEILING OR DEMOLITION PLANS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INDICATE THIS WORK ON THE COORDINATION DRAWINGS.

5. EXISTING CONSTRUCTION TO BE REMOVED:A. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL CONSTRUCTION DESIGNATED AND/OR SHOWN TO BE REMOVED TO RECEIVE NEW WORK AS HEREIN INDICATED COMPLETELY.B. FIRE PROTECTION, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL TRADES SHALL REMOVE ALL DEVICES AND ITEMS PERTAINING TO THEIR RESPECTIVE TRADES FROM ALL EXISTING PARTITIONS, CEILINGS, ETC. BEING REMOVED. COORDINATE DEMOLITION WITH CONCURRENT GENERAL DEMOLITION. UNLESS NOTED TO BE ABANDONED, ALL FIRE PROTECTION, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL WHICH PASS THROUGH OR ARE

AFFECTED BY THE DEMOLITION SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A COMPLETE AND FULLY OPERATIONAL CONDITION OR, WHERE NOTED, BE APPROPRIATELY CAPPED OFF. PROVIDE TEMPORARY SYSTEMS AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN FULL OPERATION OUTSIDE THE AREA OF DEMOLITION FOR ANY AND ALL SYSTEMS.

6. REMOVE PORTIONS OF EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AS DESIGNATED AND/OR SHOWN AND PATCH REMAINING SURFACES TO MATCH THE ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION.

7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO THE ROOM FINISH INFORMATION DRAWINGS AND/OR SCHEDULE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING FINISHES WHICH IMPACT THE WORK.

8. WHEN CARPET IS TO BE REMOVED IT SHALL BE WETTED WITH AN EPA AND OWNER APPROVED GERMICIDAL AGENT PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OF THE CARPET TO PREVENT THE DISPERSION OF AIRBORNE PARTICLES.

9. WHENEVER EXISTING EQUIPMENT, PIPING, DUCTS, ETC. ARE REQUIRED TO BE REMOVED, SUCH REMOVAL SHALL INCLUDE ALL ANCHORS, HANGERS, FOUNDATIONS, ETC. AFTER REMOVAL, ANY AFFECTED CONSTRUCTION AND SURFACES SUCH AS FLOORS, WALLS, BASES AND CEILINGS SHALL BE FINISHED TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

10. ALL EQUIPMENT REMOVED, SUCH AS PLUMBING FIXTURES, ELECTRICAL FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT, MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, AIR CONDITIONER UNITS, ETC. SHALL BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER AND STORED WHERE DIRECTED. ITEMS THE OWNER DOES NOT WANT TO KEEP SHALL BE REMOVED AND PROPERLY DISPOSED BY THE CONTRACTOR.

11. REMOVE EXISTING CABINETWORK AS INDICATED. WHERE THERE IS PLUMBING INVOLVED, SUCH PLUMBING SHALL BE REMOVED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT THAT IS PRACTICAL OR AT A MINIMUM SHALL BE CAPPED OFF IN THE WALL OR BELOW THE FLOOR SUCH THAT THE WALL OR FLOOR SURFACE CAN BE PATCHED FLUSH TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES OR TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES SCHEDULED. SEE PLUMBING NOTES FOR MOREINFORMATION.

12. WHERE INDICATED, REMOVE THE EXISTING DOOR AND FRAME AND SEAL THE OPENING WITH WALL CONSTRUCTION TO MATCH THE ADJACENT WALL, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. FINISH THE WALL TO MATCH THE ADJACENT FINISH OR TO RECEIVE THE NEW FINISH AS SCHEDULED.

13. WHERE INDICATED, REMOVE THE EXISTING WINDOW AND SEAL THE OPENING WITH WALL CONSTRUCTION TO MATCH THE ADJACENT WALL, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. FINISH THE WALL TO MATCH THE ADJACENT FINISH OR TO RECEIVE THE NEW FINISH AS SCHEDULED.

14. WHERE INDICATED, REMOVE THE EXISTING WINDOWS AND REPLACE WITH NEW WINDOWS AS SCHEDULED. PATCH AND FINISH THE WALL TO MATCH THE ADJACENT FINISH OR TO RECEIVE THE NEW FINISH AS SCHEDULED.

15. EXISTING AREAS, WHETHER WITHIN OR OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF THE CONTRACT, SHALL BE REPAIRED WHERE ANY DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION.

16. DURING THE DEMOLITION PROCESS, SHOULD THE CONTRACTOR ENCOUNTER ANY MATERIAL IDENTIFIED AS OR SUSPECTED TO CONTAIN ASBESTOS FIBERS OR MOLD, IT SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE ARCHITECT AND THE OWNER. NOTE THAT THE OWNER WILL CONTRACT DIRECTLY WITH A LICENSED ABATEMENT CONTRACTOR FOR THE NECESSARY WORK INVOLVING CONTAINMENT AND/OR REMOVAL OF THE ASBESTOS ORMOLD.

17. WHEN PATCHING SLABS ON GRADE OR EXTERIOR WALLS REPLACE VAPOR BARRIER, WATER AND OR AIR BARRIERS IF PRESENT TO MATCH THE LOCATION OF THE EXISTING VAPOR, WATER AND OR AIR BARRIERS AND TAPE OR PROVIDE OTHER FASTENERS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE EXISTING AND NEW BARRIER CONSISTENT WITH THE ORIGINAL BARRIER.

18. ALL ABANDONED ELECTRICAL CONDUITS, FITTINGS, AND ENCLOSED SHALL BE REMOVED BACK TO THE NEXT ACTIVE FITTING, JUNCTION BOX, PULL BOX, OR ENCLOSURE. ALL OPEN KNOCKOUTS OR THREADED HUBS SHALL BE CAPPED OR PLUGGED AS APPROPRIATE.

19. ALL ABANDONED ELECTRICAL WIRE AND/ OR CABLES SHALL BE REMOVED BACK TO THE POINT OF ORIGIN.

20. ALL FIRE/ SMOKE WALL OPENINGS SHALL BE CLOSED WITH AN APPROPRIATE FIRE STOPPING SYSTEM. FOR OPENINGS LEFT AS A RESULT OF CONDUIT AND/ OR CABLE REMOVAL, REPAIR AS NECESSARY TO MATCH EXISTING WALL CONSTRUCTION.

21. COMPLETED RUNS OF EMPTY ELECTRICAL CONDUITS DESIGNATED AS "SPARE" SHALL NOT BE REMOVED.

10. INSTALL PLUMBING VENTS THROUGH ROOF TO BE A MINIMUM OF 10'-0" FROM ALL RTU AND OTHER OUTSIDE AIRINTAKES. COORDINATE WITH MECHANICAL.

11. ALL WATER PIPING PASSING THROUGH CONCRETE FLOOR SLABS SHALL BE COMPLETELY ISOLATED FROM THECONCRETE BY ENCASEMENT IN 1/2" THICK FLEXIBLE FOAM PLASTIC INSULATION, WRAPPED WITH 2 PLYS OF 15# FELTTO ISOLATE THE PIPE FROM THE CONCRETE. WHERE WATER PIPE EXTENDS THROUGH CONCRETE GRADE BEAMSBELOW GRADE, IT SHALL BE ENCASED IN 3/8" THICK FLEXIBLE FOAM PLASTIC INSULATION. PIPING BELOW SLABSHALL BE TYPE "M" SOFT TEMPER COPPER WITHOUT JOINTS.

12. ALL EXPOSED PIPING PASSING THROUGH FLOORS, CEILINGS OR WALLS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH APPROVEDPLATES OF SUFFICIENT DIAMETER TO COVER THE SLEEVE OPENING AND FIT SNUGLY AROUND THE PIPE.

13. WATER AND SEWER LINES SHALL BE LAID IN SEPARATE TRENCHES WITH A MINIMUM HORIZONTAL SPACING ASREQUIRED BY CODE.

14. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL PIPE SUPPORTS REQUIRED FOR PLUMBING EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS.ALL HORIZONTAL RUNS OF PIPING SHALL BE SUPPORTED BY PIPE HANGERS SPACED NOT MORE THAN 10 FEETAPART FOR PIPES 1-1/4" AND LARGER, AND 8' FOR PIPES SMALLER THAN 1-1/4", AND AT EACH JOINT. ADDITIONALSUPPORTS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE REQUIRED TO PREVENT SAGGING. PROVIDE PIPE SADDLES FOR INSULATEDPIPING.

15. CLEANOUTS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS, OR WHERE REQUIRED, TO PROVIDEACCESS TO ALL LINES AND AT HORIZONTAL RUN AT INTERVALS NOT EXCEEDING 80 FEET IN ALL SOIL, WASTE ANDDRAIN LINES. CLEANOUTS SHALL BE SAME AS PIPE EXCEPT CLEANOUTS LARGER THAN 4" WILL NOT BE REQUIRED.

16. DO NOT INSTALL PVC PIPING IN ANY RETURN AIR PLENUMS.

17. ALL WASTE AND VENT PIPING SHALL BE STANDARD WEIGHT CAST IRON OR SCHEDULE 40 PVC. HORIZONTAL SOIL &WASTE PIPES SHALL BE GIVEN A GRADE OF 1/4 INCH PER FOOT WHERE POSSIBLE, BUT IN NO CASE LESS THAN 1/8INCH PER FOOT.
