Client CASE 1

PDVSA - PETROPIAR PETROPIARJoint Venture dedicated to exploration, extraction, recollection,

transport and hydrocarbon storage in the Orinoco's oil girdle,

Venezuela. His property is shared by Chevron (30%) and

PDVSA (70%).

•Problematic: Leak of oil with density 16® API, high failure rate.

•Plant: Heavy crude improver PETROPIAR, Barcelona-Venezuela

•System / Process: - Feed of CDU plant Atmospheric Tower.

•Equipment: Bomba 61-P-001A.

•Solution: - Pressure element relocated to avoid contact with product.- Robustness in the rings and Change of Plan API.

Cliente CASE 2

PDVSA - PETROCEDEÑOOil operator, is a Joint Venture. His property is shared by PDVSA

(60%), TOTAL from France (30.3%) and STATOILHYDRO from

Norway (9.7%). Is dedicated to exploration, extraction,

production, improver and commercialization of oil.

PETROCEDEÑO

•Problematic: Leak of liquid sulfur during start and operation of

equipment due to bad design of old mechanical seal. Product was

in direct contact with metal bellows, because of this solidified sulfur

particles was on bellows spaces, this situation prevented the

removal of sulfur particles even when the seal was hot.

Same particles caused a block between bellows cavies generating

the opening of the primary seal ring.

•Plant: Heavy crude improver PETROCEDEÑO, Barcelona-Venezuela.

Solid managements. .

•System / Process: -Pump system in export lines of liquid sulfur.

•Equipment: Liquid sulfur export pump 08-P-6001 A. •Solution: -Implementation of seal system with support plan API.- Installation of a local temperature gauge.

TOTAL LEUNA RefineryTOTAL is in Leuna, Germany. Is one of the most modern

refineries in Europe. Produces a wide range of products as

Gasoline, Diesel, Fuel oil, LPG, Naphtha, Aviation fuel, Bitumen

and Methanol. Is the largest producer of Methanol in Germany,

methanol is an important raw material for chemical industry.

This refinery is a plant of 235 kilo barrel (kBOE) per day. Is

capable to produce 3 million ton of gasoline.

•Problematic: Internal and external tightness failure during start and operation of equipment. •Plant: Hydro process.

•System /Process: Steam stabilizer.

•Equipment: 641 W1021 ABCDEF.

Czech producer of raw material for refinery, petrochemistry and

market, fuel oil, bitumen, liquefied petroleum products,

aromatics, agrochemicals, carbon black, polyolefin (high

density polyethylene, Polypropylene).
