S E Q U O I A C L U B ODOT-FHWA The Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Southern Plains Transportation Center, Southern Plains TTAP and the Oklahoma LTAP would like to invite you to the seminar “Corrosion Resistant Rebar (CRRB)”. This is a free seminar provided to disseminate the latest information on alternative reinforcing bars available in the market place. This seminar provides information on various types of corrosion-resistant rebar that could be used on bridge projects to obtain longer service life than that allowed by current high performance concrete. You will get to hear from producers about their products and research to show that their rebar will withstand aggressive environments. Industry representatives will provide the latest materials and fabrication information on the following types of rebar: Solid Stainless Steel, MMFX, Galvanized Rebar, Stainless Clad Rebar, Epoxy Coated Rebar, Glass Fiber-Reinforced Rebar, and Basalt Fiber Reinforced Bars. In addition, researchers from around the nation will present the results of their investigations into the performance of diverse products. Virginia DOT will share its experience with the use of different CRRBs and current policy. Dr. Matt O’Reilly from Kansas State University will present findings on various CRRB evaluations. Dr. Francisco Presuel-Moreno, Principal Investigator from Florida Atlantic University will share the FHWA/Florida DOT research summary on alternative CRRB testing and evaluations. FHWA will also provide the update of the multi-year in house accelerated testing program for 12 different types of rebar. Cost comparisons for the various rebar types as well as deployment considerations for new technologies will also be covered.
