Galle Fort Lighthouse

Also known as Pointe de Galle Light, This is Sri Lanka's oldest light station dating back to 1848, however it was destroyed by fire in 1934. The existing light house was erected here in 1939

Galle National Museum

-LOCATION: CHURCH STREET-ENTRANCE FEE: 3 US $ (+ 2 US $ FOR PHOTOGRAPHY)-TIMES: 9:00AM - 5:00PM

With it’s colonnaded front veranda, this building was once the barracks for junior officials of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). It is one of the oldest structures from the Dutch period. It contains some interesting objects from the past

All Saints Anglican Church

-LOCATION: CHURCH STREET-ENTRANCE FEE: FREE-TIMES: 8:30AM - 6:00PM

This is one of the most beautiful Anglican churches in Sri Lanka. The church is built in a Victorian Gothic revival style with modifications to cater for the local climate.

Dutch Reformed Church

-LOCATION: CHURCH STREET-ENTRANCE FEE: FREE-TIMES: 8:30AM - 5:30PM (EXCEPT MASS TIMES)

The Groote Kerk (Great Church) is built on the highest point inside the Fort in 1755. The church has a beautiful wooden hexagonal pulpit and baptismal stand. The floor contain the tombstones of many European colonist who died so far away from their native lands.

Meera Mosque

-LOCATION: RAMPART STREET-ENTRANCE FEE: FREE (WALK-BY)TIMES: 24/7

This Portuguese baroque style mosque was built in 1904.At that time the Portuguese permitted no mosques inside their fort. This can be the reason for this definitely "un-Muslim" design.
