Including special launch of multicultural mosaic created by members of local diverse community.

    ‘HANDS ON' GUIDED TOUR @ Carlow County MuseumGet a snapshot of the wonderful history and heritage of County Carlow. Among the items on display is the 19th century carved pulpit from Carlow Cathedral and the gallows trapdoor from the Carlow Gaol.

    CARLOW COLLEGE OF MUSIC PERFORMANCE @ VISUALA cultural experience to showcase some of the performing groups in association with Carlow College of Music – our choir 'Sing Aloud' and brass ensemble 'No Strings Attached'. A varied programme of music and song.

    EXHIBITION @ Carlow County Library, Tullow StPhotographic exhibition featuring Carlow's built heritage and some digital art by Jarlath Judge who has exhibited his work in Ireland and overseas.

    ‘FREE RANGE’ CIRCUS WORKSHOP @ Carlow College GroundsStep right up and get ‘hands on’ with circus tricks and skills. Young people can try their hand at a mixture of circus props such as hula hoops, juggling props, diabolo, tightrope and rolla bolla.

    CARLOW ART COLLECTION @ Carlow CollegeCelebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Collection. For this all Carlow event Carlow Art Collection are re-curating the collection around the 11 Frank O'Meara sketches, which were his hands on interpretation of the Carlow landscape in the 1860's. Catherine Marshall (IMMA) and Barbara Dawson (Hugh Lane), both experts in O'Meara, will give informal talks on different aspects of his work and wider influence through the Celtic Revival. Music intervention with Ye Vagabonds.

    BACKSTAGE TOUR @ VISUALVISUAL will celebrate the joy of 'hands on making' through a number of drop in activities, showcasing some of the best of Carlow's culture. See how the 'making' happens with their behind the scenes backstage tour.

    CELEBRATING CARLOW'S ART & CULTURE @ Carlow County Library, Tullow StCarlow Storytellers have invited Carlow Little Theatre Society to join them in a night of celebrating Carlow's involvement in Art and Culture. Paying tribute to people such as Barry McGinley, the late Jim Nolan and others by performing samples of their work. The night will also include a “teaser performance” from CLT's upcoming production “Philadelphia, here I come”.

    CARLOW YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOPS @ VISUAL5.30-6.30pm Open, accessible theatre skills workshop for young people aged 9-11yrs6.30-8.30pm An open advanced improvisation skills workshop for young people 15-19 yrs (where adults are encouraged to participate). No previous experience required.

    PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP @ VISUALRennie Buenting a local Carlow artist will deliver a 'drop-in' family printmaking workshop for everyone, samples of work will also be on display.

    20 YRS OF ASPIRO @ VISUALAspiro will present an intergenerational performance to officially launch 20 years of Aspiro in Carlow. In keeping with this year's theme of “hand-on making” sections of the performance will be youth-led and include audience participation.

    BLUEPRINT EXHIBITION @ Location TBC See ‘Carlow Arts Office’ on FacebookBlueprint artists will present an exhibition of artworks that use a variety of materials and techniques, including photography, paint making, sculpture and installation.

    FIREFLY @ Carlow College GroundsDublin Circus Project will close Culture Night Carlow with a 30 minute choreographed fire spectacle featuring 5 performers, Fire hoop, Fire Fans, Fire Staff, Fire Poi, Fire Skipping and more. Not to be missed!

    CULTURE NIGHT is a unique celebration that offers the opportunity to sample forms of culture you may not normally make time for. Take a look at this year's Cultural Trail hosted by Carlow County Council Arts Office, free family-fun events devised by local artists, music and cultural groups, communities, public spaces and clubs.

    CARLOW'S WRITER IN RESIDENCE PROGRAMMECarlow Library writers have been working with writer in residence John MacKenna over the past six months, creating pieces of prose and poetry about their favourite areas in Co Carlow. In August the writers, with film-maker John Loftus recorded and filmed the pieces at a variety of location in Co Carlow. On Culture Night the fruits of their labour will hit the big screen.     TAKE A PART CARLOW @ Tullow Road, CarlowTake A Part Carlow will host a participatory art event, whereby the community (Arts Action Group) will present to the people of the Tullow Road Area an invitation to work with an artist over one evening in the creation of a piece that will reflect the community.
