Sunday & Holiday Service on Key Routes

Limited Sunday and holiday service will be added on key routes. The added service will help more citizens commute to work, run errands, and travel to meet family on Sundays and holidays.* The added service will be in effect Sundays as well as Memorial Day, Easter Sunday, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Hourly service will be added to MMT’s higher volume routes between 7:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. With the addition of Sunday and holiday service, MMT will now provide service 362 days out of the year (currently 307 days). This change will affect the following routes: #1: Hillside-Hancock Plaza

#3: Colorado Avenue#5: Boulder Street#7: Pikes Peak Ave. - Citadel#9: South portion only (new Rt. 9B) - Downtown Terminal to UCCS#11: World Arena - Pikes Peak Community College#25: Academy Blvd.

Evening Service for Route 9

Evening service will be added on Route 9* to offer more options to large groups of employees in that area. Hourly service will be added so that the final southbound departure from Woodmen Rd./Corporate Dr. will leave at 8:26 p.m. and arrive at the Downtown Terminal at 9:05 p.m. to allow time for final connections on outbound evening routes.

CHANGES TO EXISTING ROUTESRoute 9 - Cascade Ave. to North Nevada Ave.

Route 9 will be divided into routes 9A and 9B to distinguish between its currently alternating destinations. This change will help riders identify the appropriate bus, given their desired destinations.

*Please read “Changes to Existing Routes” for more information about changes to Route 9. See individual route schedules for specifics.

*There will continue to be no service scheduled for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. See individual route schedules for specifics.

Note: All times are approximate.

The new Route 9A will originate at the Downtown Terminal at 15 minutes past the hour and end at the Voyager Transfer Center.

The new Route 9B will originate at the Downtown Terminal at 45 minutes past the hour and end at the Univeristy of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) stop.

Route 14 - Chestnut St - Garden of the Gods Rd.

Several changes will be made to Route 14. They are as follows:

• Dividing Route 14 into two routes: Route 14 and Route 34. Both will provide hourly service. See preceding section titled “New Route 34” for more information.

• Minor route change on Route 14 traveling north from Downtown Terminal to Citizens Service Center, from Holland Park, turn right on Forrest Hill to Garden of the Gods Rd. This re-route has potential time savings of 7 to 8 minutes per round trip, thereby improving on-time performance. Please refer to maps on back panel.

• Deletion of existing Route 14 Saturday service will be substituted with Saturday service for new Route 34. Route 34 Saturday service will run from 6:14 a.m. to 10:08 a.m. and 2:42 p.m. to 7:04 p.m. For Saturday transportation to the Downtown Terminal, new Route 34 is designed to meet with Route 9B at UCCS.
