A Message from our LTG
The past few months have been
very hectic months, yet at the
same time amazing! Juggling
college applications, school
work, volunteering, and other
obligations, I'm sure that every-
one (Especially the seniors) have
had a bunch of work on their
hands.
With the approach of the holi-
days and winter break, I wish you
all a safe and wonderful break.
Be sure to RELAX in the next two
weeks, and enjoy yourself!
Spend some time with your
family, whether it's your biologi-
cal, or Key Club, be sure to have
fun.
After break, elections are
approaching! So I hope that
everyone who is interested in
running for a position has
already decided or has planned
what to do to run! Remember to
contact your home club presi-
dents, and good luck!
Hi Hippos!
Happy Holidays!

December 15Jingle Bell Run
44
.The rain continued to plum-
met. But on this day, hundreds
of runners and volunteers
gathered just outside Balboa
Park to partcipate in the
annual Jingle Bell Run. They
endured the harsh, wet, and
freezing weather as they
huddled together under
umbrellas and tents. Key
Clubbers from both Divisions
21 and 31 were present, sign-
ing in admist the heavy rain
before seeking shelter from
the bombardment. As they
waited for their assignments to
begin, the skys began to
clear, leaving the air cool and
the ground wet. From the
confines of the tents the
volunteers proceeded
towards their assigned desti-
nations--whether it be at the
start/finish line, the booths, or
along the route--where they
would perform their tasks such
as guiding or cheering on
runners or helping the staff
around the event area. Both
runners and volunteers
endured the harsh weather
on that day. After a long
morning of work, Key
Clubbers were just
starting their day as
they headed to the
December DCM
afterwards.

Gathering together at the Mira
Mesa Recreation Center, Key
Clubbers from both Division 21
and Division 37S attended
what would be a joint DCM
with one another. Presents
were set aside on a lone table,
for the game of White
Elephant was to occur at the
end of the DCM. At such a
gathering as large as this, there
exists the potential for new
friends. Ice breakers followed
immediately after the arrival of
most or all of the members
who deicded to attend. Foll-
woing the ice breakers, mem-
bers gathered along with their
respective divisions in order to
be informed by their LTGs
about important news and
upcoming events. Key Club
Alumni also attended the DCM
as they had just gotten back
home from college after finish-
ing their finals for the quarter.
Among them included Mi-
chael Acasio, Edward To,
David Phan, Alex Pham,
and many more. At the end,
everyone proceeded toward
the table to participate in
White Elephant. Each gift
unveiled a new surprise, lead-
ing to excitement and wonder
as Key Clubbers opened their
gifts.

Letter from the Editor
Letter from the Editor Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and
New Years! December marks the final month of the
year, but the Key Club year doesnt end just yet.
Theres still DCON, ICON, and many more service
events waiting for us in the future.
I hope that you guys all enjoy your winter break
coming up--unless youre already on it (lucky). Its
been a very long month, full of homework and college
applications-. Good luck to those of you who are still
finishing out your Common App for those private
schools you dream of attending.
Elections are soon and although it means the
closing of your current officers years, it is also a new
beginning for each and every club as we welcome new
officers who carry with them unique personalities
and views. DCON is also right around the corner,
and I hope to see both new and past attendees this
year. Keep the the hard work and enjoy your well-de-
served break as we usher in the new year.
Sincerely,
Travis ChangD21 Tech Editor 2012-2013
