WORK STREAM

Over the past 8 weeks, we have been extremely busy on a large project for Interserve FM.

Completed works includes 9,206m² of road resurfacing, 600 linear metres of new

kerbs installed, 968m² of footpath constructions including 12 tactile/bar faced crossings and all associated road markings.

Our Small Works Teams have also been extremely busy with Cable installations that have gone particularly well throughout February. The teams completed an LV install,

including link boxes and a road crossing, for a new hostel being constructed in Kentish Town, London.

Homestead Photovoltaic (PV) Farm, our first project for Regetec (featured in Jan newsletter), has been

moving at an incredibly fast pace.

LCL operatives have managed to install ducts and pull

in cables covering 11,000 metres of LV and HV and 3,000 metres of earth cable.

We also had a 60T crawler crane on site carrying out

the installation of the 12 substations for the project.

PLANT

After continuous hire for a specialist cable trailer, we have now invested in a 20T drum trailer which has a Diesel Engine Power Pack for Drum Lift and Forward Reverse

Drum Drive Unit. The trailer is also fitted with beacons, walkway and hand rails.

The drum specifications are; Max diameter 4600mm, Min Drum 2400mm, and Maximum Drum Width 2400mm. Considering a standard drum width is 1100mm, I’m

sure you will agree that from the smallest multicore cable to largest HV cable, Lydon Contracting Limited can provide “Your Total Construction Solution”.

FLEET

This month we have added a new addition to our fleet portfolio with the inclusion of

our second Citroen Berlingo Van.

Slowly upgrading our fleet to lower emission producing and more fuel efficient vehicles is just one of the ways we are reducing our carbon footprint and helping to

protect the environment for future generations.

TRAINING

For Lydon Contracting Ltd to continue being “Your Total Construction Solution”,

investment into the continued growth of our operatives is a key part of the business.

This month, another 9 operatives successfully completed ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ training, making 75% of our workers, qualified first

aiders.

Additions to our qualified street-works operatives has also taken place during February, with 2 Operatives and 1

Supervisor passing their examinations.
