Mis queridos feligreses, ¡Feliz Domingo de la Divina Misericordia! Estoy extremadamente agradecido con Dios por la hermosa Semana Santa que tuvimos. Fueron tantas las bendiciones a nuestra parroquia durante el curso de la semana. Estoy muy agrade-cido con todos los que trabajaron fuertemente para asegurar-se de que tuviéramos hermosas liturgias y celebraciones. Fue para, nuestro director de música, Andy Williams, su primera Semana Santa con nosotros y él hizo un gran trabajo con los coros. Le agradezco a los coros de Español e Inglés por su fuerte trabajo y preparación. Le agradezco a Diácono Polo por la Pasión de María y las diecinueve damas que represen-taron a la Virgen Dolorosa. Además le agradezco al diacono por coordinar el Viernes Santo nuestro Via Crucis al aire libre con una gran muchedumbre y muchos ayudantes. Le agra-dezco a Eileen Goetzger y a todos los que ayudaron con la limpieza y decoración de la parroquia. Fue una bendición ver tanta gente venir. Un número de nuestros candidatos a con-firmarse estuvieron presentes para completar sus horas de servicio comunitario, pero ellos se enorgullecieron y se ale-graron de lo que estaban haciendo. Las decoraciones del Do-mingo de Ramos fueron hechas por todos los muchachos quienes hicieron un trabajo espectacular preparando la iglesia para ese día. Gracias a todos los lectores, ujieres, ministros extraordinarios de la Sagrada Comunión, los monaguillos y todos los demás que tomaron parte en la preparación y el servicio. Nuestra parroquia estuvo especialmente bendecida con la presencia de las Hermanas de Colombia, Comunicado-ras Eucarísticas del Padre Celestial, durante el Triduo Pas-cual. A ellas se les lavaron los pies el Jueves Santo y lideraron la música de la procesión al altar de reposo. Ellas cantaron durante el Via Crucis el Viernes Santo y cantaron el Pregón Pascual (Exsúlted) en la Vigilia Pascual, el cual fue excepcio-nal. Ellas cantaron toda la música en la Misa de Español el Domingo de Pascua y también proveyeron la música el Lunes de Pascua. Todo lo que puedo decir acerca de eso es que fue celestial. Algo muy personal de la Semana Santa que me gus-taría compartirles es que el Jueves Santo, el Canon Romano, Plegaria Eucarística 1, antes de la consagración de la hostia, llama al sacerdote a mirar hacia arriba y a decir “El cual, la víspera de su Pasión, tomó pan en sus santas y venerables manos, y, elevando los ojos, hacia ti, Dios, Padre suyo todo-poderoso.” Cuando miré hacia arriba y vi nuestro hermoso cielo raso recién pintado que parece como el cielo, me impre-sionó la belleza y los sagrados misterios que estábamos cele-brando. ¡Alabado sea Dios! ¡Felices Pascuas! Letter from our Pastor...
My dear parishioners, Happy Divine Mercy Sunday! I am extremely grateful to God for the beautiful Holy Week we had. There were so many blessings for our parish during the course of the week. I am grateful to all those who worked so hard to make sure we had beautiful liturgies and celebrations. It was our music director, Andy Wil-liams, first Holy Week with us and he did a great job with the choirs. I am grateful for the Spanish and Eng-lish choirs for their hard work and preparation. I am grateful to Deacon Polo for the Passion of Mary and the nineteen ladies who portrayed the Sorrowful Virgin. Also grateful to the deacon for coordinating our Good Friday outdoor stations of the cross with the large crowds with many helpers. I am grateful to Eileen Goetzger and all those who helped with the cleaning and decorating of the parish. It was a blessing to see so many different people come out. A number of our con-firmation candidates were present to complete their community service hours, but they took pride and joy in what they were doing. The Palm Sunday decorations were done by all boys who did a spectacular job of pre-paring the church for that day. Thank you to all the lec-tors, ushers, extraordinary ministers of holy commun-ion, the altar servers and anyone else who had a part of the preparation and serving. Our parish was especially blessed with the pres-ence of the sisters from Colombia, Comunicadoras Eu-caristicas del Padre Celestial, during the Easter Tridu-um. They had their feet washed on Holy Thursday and led the music for the procession to the altar of repose. They sang during the Good Friday Via Crucis and sang the Exsultet at the Easter Vigil, which was extraordi-nary. They did all the music for the Spanish Mass on Easter Sunday and also provided music for Easter Mon-day. All I can say about that is that it was heavenly. One personal insight from Holy Week that I would like to share is that on Holy Thursday, the Ro-man Canon, Eucharistic Prayer 1, before the consecra-tion of the host, calls for the priest to look up and say “he took bread in his holy and venerable hands, and with eyes raised to heaven to you, O God, his almighty Father.” As I looked up and I saw our beautiful newly painted ceiling that looks like the heavens, I was awed by the beauty and the sacred mysteries we were cele-brating.
