Message from the Principal
Pink Day
Thursday 25th May, Week
5, has been set down as
Pink Day for 2017, where
the school raises money for
the McGrath Foundation.
Staff and students are invit-
ed to dress in Pink for the
day and donate a gold coin for the priv-
ilege. The canteen will be selling Pink
treats and recess and lunch and organ-
ising a Pink Meal Deal for lunch.
There will also be a number of Pink
fundraisers at school such as Pink face
painting for $2, the sale of Pink wrist-
bands for $2, a raffle consisting of
male and female McGrath Foundation
Pink shirts and 2 Pink hats and lots
more. Keep an eye out for Pink clothes
to wear to school and start putting
money aside for this worthy fundraiser
– all money raised on the day will be
donated directly to the McGrath Foun-
dation.
School Hats
The front office will no longer be lend-
ing out hats during the week as we
have had a few issues with head lice
recently. These hats will be put aside
and lent out for PSSA sport only and
will then be washed weekly. Brand
new school hats are available from the
front office and uniform shop for the
very reasonable price of $11. Please
remember, it is compulsory to wear a
school hat to school each and every
day.
NAPLAN
This testing will be taking place for all
Year 3 and 5 students at school on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of
this week. Students who are absent will
be given Friday to make up the missing
Dubbo North Public School “Skill with Honour by being Responsible,
Safe & Respectful lifelong learners”
Weekly Newsletter Week 3 Term 2 2017
test/s. It is vitally important that students
sit these tests as this is what our school is
compared with against the rest of the
state and affects our Socio-economic
status funding. Students will be complet-
ing Writing, Language Conventions,
Reading and Numeracy tests so please
ensure students have a good night’s rest
and enjoy a healthy breakfast before
coming to school.
PSSA Sport
If was great to receive lots of positive
comments about our students at PSSA
sport last week, which shows our stu-
dents are Responsible, Safe and Respect-
ful both at school and when away repre-
senting DNPS. Please ensure students
are wearing the correct sports uniform to
school on Fridays, as recently I have
been loaning out socks, shorts and shirts
which will not continue all term. Stu-
dents also need to bring in $3.50 a week
or $30 for the term to pay for the bus and
if they don’t, they will still attend sport
but will not be eligible to participate, as
there are no Primary teachers left at
school to supervise them.
School Reports
Teachers are busily preparing Semester 1
Report Cards which will go home to-
wards the end of the term. Parent/teacher
interviews will be conducted on Tuesday
27th June from 4:00pm so make sure you
leave the afternoon free to attend these
important meetings to discuss the aca-
demic, cultural, social and sporting pro-
gress of your child throughout the first
semester of 2017.
Have a great week.
