Eddy Elementary

When the East China School District submitted its application for bonding approval to the Michigan

Department of Treasury, Eddy Elementary was scheduled for closure and improvements for that

facility were not included in the application. After the bond application was submitted to The

Department of Treasury, the closure decision regarding Eddy Elementary was rescinded by the East

China Board of Education. By law, only projects included in the application can be funded through

the Bond.

Given this, the Board of Education is committed to ensuring that Eddy students and staff will have

the same instructional technology and opportunities as their peers in every district classroom will

have. To achieve this, bond proceeds may be used to purchase laptops, tablets, and other

instructional devices students use on a daily basis to access the curriculum.

As building infrastructure needs arise, these repairs and improvements will be paid for through the

current Sinking Fund.
