Dear Parishioners , Benefactors and Friends of St William, Happy Easter to all of you! Jesus is truly risen in our hearts this day. I wish you all a strong faith in Jesus Christ our Savior and that you feel His deep abiding love for you. Today in our church as well as in other churches, we see the symbolical empty tomb of Christ. The empty tomb of Jesus also tells us that the life of Jesus did not end with death. To us the Resurrection of Jesus means that He lives. Today He meets with people, displays his Divine power, distributes kindness of heart and pours out love. Today we are his witness, we are his disciples of faith, His eyes, His hands, His Feet. His Resurrection is the crowning glory of His passion and death. First I want to say thank you to all those who support St. William Parish, School and CCD Program either financially or as volunteers. I appreciate all you do and am so grateful for you. Registration for the 2017-2018 school year has already started and it is starting off with a Bang! Did you know our school is one of best in the area? Our students go on to many of the Catholic High School and so many former students are on the honor roll in those schools. I am so proud of our students, teachers, Principle and parents who work so hard to provide a quality Catholic Educa-tion. I am so proud of our Catechist in our CCD Program too. Good job! Thank you so much. On Holy Saturday we welcomed 5 new members of our RCIA program to the Catholic Faith and to our parish family: Donte Julius Bautista Claudia Garcia Michelle Garcia Gisselle M. Ortiz Bryan Ramirez We welcome You all to St. William Parish and the Catholic Church . Congratulation! Rising of the Roof is coming next Friday and Saturday. Please support this fundraiser by buying a $10 ticket. All proceeds go towards to reaper on our five buildings. There will be music, good food, cof-fee, Raffle and Show for those 21 and over. I want to thank you Jeff Kwit and his crew for all their hard work, fundraising efforts, time and talent. Thanks also for bringing us together as a community for an evening of fun. Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday . Please joins us for recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet- to be recited in Polish after the 2:00 PM Polish Mass and in English at 3:00 PM. There will be also Adoration until 3:30 PM. Confession will be heard at 3:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to come. EUCHARIST ADORATION NEW SPRING/SUMMER EXTENDED HOURS BEGINNING APRIL 20

Saint Thomas Aquinas a Doctor of the Church, considered one of the greatest theologians of the Church, values faith as a key element of our worship of our Lord in the “sacred Host,” the Eucharist! We as Catho-lics believe that Christ is present to us in the consecrated bread known as the Host.

This is true whether we receive Him in communion at Mass or adore Him in the monstrance or in the tabernacle containing the Eucharist. It is through the Eucharist that Christ’s great love for us was shown when he was crucified on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and give us eternal life. He loves us without limit, and offers Himself to us in the Holy sacrament of the Eu-charist. Can we not give Jesus a few minutes of love and adoration in return?

St Thomas who’s great devotion for the Eucharist led him to compose “Pange Lingua” a hymn to honor the Feast of Corpus Christi. The last two stanzas are better known to us as “Tantum Ergo”.

How to make a Holy Hour: Meditate during your Holy Hour. This is a time for quiet and for spirituality. Find something spe-cific for your meditation. Combine prayer and reading. Offer Christ your petitions and thanksgivings. Many read the Bible, pray the rosary, read a favorite prayer book, or speak to Jesus heart-to-heart as a friend, some just sit and meditate and enjoy the peace that comes from being in the presence of God.

We need your help to volunteer so the Blessed Sacrament is not left unattended. Please consider signing up by choosing a time slot. A signup sheet is located in the Center of the Church on a podium.

Our new Spring/Summer Hours begin on Thursday April 20 after the noon mass to 6:00 pm, with prayers to the Divine Mercy at 3 pm in Polish ending with Divine Mercy Chaplet and benediction in English at 6 pm.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY, April 23, 2017 When Pope John Paul II canonized Blessed Faustina he declared the Second Sunday of Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday, throughout the Church. Please join us on Sunday, April 23rd at 3:00 pm in the church for recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, as it was revealed to St. Faustina as the “The Hour of Mercy”.

in Liebrich Hall. There will be coffee and rolls, bingo and other games.

"Then they went away quickly from the tomb, fearful yet over-joyed." The two Marys were in for a surprise. They had come, as usual, to do the ritual anointing of their dead friend's body. But on their arrival, not only was there an earthquake, there was also an angel whose "appearance was like lightning" and whose "clothing was white as snow." The brave guards were so scared they "became like dead men," but the women managed to stay on their feet and hear the words of the angel. Guess what! Jesus isn't here. He's been raised from the dead. Now go share the good news! No wonder these women were feeling a mixture of emotions! They were frightened by these incredible supernatural events, but overjoyed that Jesus was alive again. Just imagine their joy when "Jesus met them on their way," and they were able to embrace him and worship him. What a day! Now, we too join in the celebration of this day of all days. Every Easter, we recall these glorious events, but we do more than just remember. We also rejoice that our Lord is alive right now, that death and sin have been conquered forever, that the gates of heaven are open for us. The joy of Easter is not a nos-talgic kind of happiness that only looks backwards. It is instead a call to rejoice in the gifts that we can enjoy today and in eter-nity. We may not have seen the angel, felt the earthquake, or kissed the feet of the risen Lord, but we are nonetheless the beneficiaries of this momentous event. We are an Easter peo-ple, a people in the hands of a loving God whose power can overcome all the terrible threats and trials of existence with the amazing gift of eternal life.

NIEDZIELA ZMARTWYCHWSTANIA PAŃSKIEGO

„Dotąd nie rozumieli jeszcze Pisma, które mówi, że On ma powstać z martwych”. W ten sposób Ewangelista Jan, świa-dek męki i śmierci Mistrza z Nazaretu, po latach opisuje nie-wytłumaczalne z perspektywy normalnego życia zjawisko Jego zmartwychwstania. Choć przewidziane w proroctwach Starego Testamentu, jednak, co do sposobu i przebiegu za-skoczyło wszystkich. Wydarzenie z pustym grobem oraz re-akcje pierwszych świadków spodziewających się w grobie ciała Jezusa: Marii Magdaleny, poszczególnych apostołów, mówią same za siebie. Nikt z nich nie rozumiał Mistrza, kie-dy On sam w swoim czasie kilkakrotnie zapowiadał swoją śmierć i zmartwychwstanie; nikt nie przypuszczał, że stanie się to niemal na ich oczach i tak szybko. I oto teraz, po strasznych wydarzeniach powszechnej zdrady, nienawiści ludu i straceniu Niewygodnego dla wszystkich, do głosu do-chodzi cisza pustego grobu. Głos zaczynają mieć ci, którzy dotąd go nie mieli, tzn. jego świadkowie, oraz ci, którzy uwie-rzą Jezusowi i podzielą się tą wieścią z innymi: ludzie z mar-ginesu, kobiety, dzieci, ubodzy rybacy i rolnicy, niewolnicy, zdawałoby się opuszczone pogańskie ludy. Tak powstawał Kościół pierwszych chrześcijan, który zaczynał rozumieć swoją misję: głoszenie światu odpuszczenia grzechów w imię Jezusa Chrystusa, Syna Bożego, który umarł za nasze grzechy na krzyżu, a przypieczętował to Swoim zmartwychwstaniem. Taki jest sens wydarzeń paschalnych, które uczyniły Jezusa „sędzią żywych i umarłych”, oraz sprawcą życia Bożego w Duchu Świętym, w chwili przyjmowania chrztu. Właśnie to przesłanie zaczynają głosić apostołowie pierwotnego Kościo-ła, czego przykładem są dzisiejsze czytanie.

ŚMIGUS DYNGUS Z poniedziałkiem wielkanocnym łączy się śmigus-dyngus, zwyczaje związane z myślą o ciepłych ulewach wiosennych. Czy mają one wydźwięk religijny?Te zwyczaje zostały przeniesione na ruchomy wprawdzie, ale kościelny już poniedziałek wielkanocny, i tak powstał "śmigus-dyngus" zwany też "oblewanką" lub po prostu "lejkiem", w zależności od regionu. Zwyczaj wzajemnego oblewania się wodą, przekazany nam przez tradycję, występuje w całej słowiańszczyźnie. Według etnografów istniały stare obrzędy pogańskie na rozpoczęcie wiosny, bowiem na Wielkanoc już pluszczą wody w strumykach. Oblewanie się wodą przypominało zbiorowy chrzest Polaków, a potem Litwinów. Za króla Władysława Jagiełły synod kościelny zakazywał w święto wielka-nocne wyłudzać jajka i inne podarunki świąteczne, gromadzenia się przy studniach i stawach, gdyż występowały liczne nadużycia przy oblewaniu się wodą. Kapele wiejskie obchodziły domy, przygrywające pieśni wielkanocne, by otrzymać poczęstunek i datek. Sąsiedzi składali sobie życzenia i częstowali się wzajemnie. Zwyczaje te powstały zapewne z żywiołowej radości, jaką w sercach ludzkich budzi wiosna i świąteczny nastrój Wielkanocy, po długim okresie Wielkiego Postu.

Świeta Rita była żoną, wdową ( zamordowano jej męża), matką ( straciła dwóch synów), osobą samotną, w końcu - zakonnicą. Jak nikt poznał wszystkie problemy trapiące ludzi, a zwłaszcza te, które dotykają rodzin.

PIELGRZYMKA DO ARKI OEGO I MUZEUM STWORZE IA W KE TUCKY 27 MAJA, 2017

Wspólnota Różańcowa przy parafii św. Williama organizuje 1-dniową pielgrzymkę autokarową do Arki Noego i Muzeum Stwo-

rzenia w Kentucky. Wyjazd jest w sobotę 27 maja o godz. 4 rano. Powrót planowany jest przed północą. Cena pielgrzymki $75 obejmuje wyłącznie przejazd autokarem. Wejściówki do muzeów wynoszą dodatkowo ok. $70.

Arka zbudowana została dokładnie według wskazówek danych przez Boga Noemu, które zostały zapisane w Księdze Rodzaju (Rozdz. 6). Budowla jest długa na 137 m, wysoka na 23 m i szeroka na 14 m.

Wszystko mieści się na siedmiu piętrach gigantycznej arki, która budowana była przez 6 lat. Drugim punktem naszej pielgrzymki będzie Muzeum Stworzenia w Petersburgu, KY. Muzeum prezentuje powstanie wszechświata, życia, człowieka i jego wczesnej historii, opartego na dosłownej interpretacji Księgi Rodzaju. Ze względu na długą podróż i potrzebę chodzenia
