Kia ora tatou...hello all.

We liked the metaphor of 'ecology' for education and wanted to tackle

the concepts in the quote:

“We need to establish a performance-driven culture in every

school that rewards excellence, elevates the status of teachers

and is positioned to help as many students as possible beat the

odds.“

We wanted to meld the environmental factors that surrounded

teachers, students and leaders as they interfaced with learning.

We created the following matrix to help organise our thinking

from what we've heard. There are two key issues that interplay

here:

(a)the amount of resourcing required to support the change or

innovation, and

(b)the extent to which those involved are able to influence the

outcome.
