Meet LotteHello! and welcome to my newspaper: Eight.

After graduating from the London College of Communication (UAL) in July 2012, I decided it was a good time to flee the country before sinking my teeth into the daunting task that is job hunting/entering the real world.

Having always been a lover of croissants, french architecture and criossants, I decided to take advantage of the 2 hour train ride from the big smoke to the city of light. So, I put my waitress apron on and saved the pennys with Paris in my

sights.

What followed was eight weeks of roaming through all 20 arrondissements to admire the differences between them. Being a foodie and having brought my bartender boyfriend along, substantial time was also made to visit the newest members of the relatively recent cocktail bar scene, as well as the latest restaurants contributing to the growing

trend of ‘casual dining’, something Paris is not exactly known for.

So day by day we left our tiny studio and slowly began to crack the city - documenting everything as we went. Using my holiday snaps, Eight has been created as a visual summary of my favourite parisian spots.

A shout out to The Newspaper Club is also in order for being such an accessable and accomodating organisation for short run printing projects.

Reflections

Paris is a city with a stone cold heart. It is known to the world as a seducer yet it is so brutally uncompromising. It is un woo-able.

It stands tall and stubborn for all to admire without so much as a blush or a thankyou, and thats what keeps us trying. We want it to like us, because it is undoubtedly one of the most cinematic cities on earth.
