Emerging Country stars The Country Music Showdown Competition presented by Ringers Western has helped launch the careers of Queensland’s up and coming country artists for the past six years.
19 Budding music stars will have the chance to share in over $20,000 worth of cash and prizes when they compete at the XXXX Stockmen’s Bar and Grill on Saturday 17 August 2019.
A win in this competition means a boost to an artist’s music career. Previous winner Blake O’Connor went on to become Toyota’s Star Maker for 2019, recently touring Australia with country music couple Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley on their Highway Sky Tour as well as releasing his debut self-titled EP in June 2018.

HostBrooke SchubertBrooke Schubert, from Moranbah in Central Queensland, is possibly one of Australia’s hardest working musicians, and her hard work is finally paying off. Brooke has performed relentlessly all over Australia, toured with Keith Urban, recorded in Nashville, released 3 EPs and has just performed on national TV to over four million people. The exposure not only allowed Brooke to show off her powerhouse country vocals, but gave people a chance to get to know Brooke and her story so far. Her influences range from Carrie Underwood to Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Ray Vaughan toJason Aldean, and Brooke’s own brand of country music and performance sets her apart as the name to watch.
Backing band Southwest BandThis Brisbane band has spent numerous years touring and performing with the elite of Australia’s country music industry, including Lee Kernaghan, Adam Brand, James Blundell, Beccy Cole, Troy Cassar-Daley and Keith Urban. Their wealth of experience ensures a professional entertainment experience every time. They are a four piece band consisting of Bass Guitar, Drums, Electric Guitar and Keyboard.
