ELSCAN OMS 4_1_ Digital print image monitoring for labels, business forms, flexo printing and converting Erhardt+Leimer, for decades leading manufacturer worldwide of web guiding equipment, has consistently worked on the further development of monitoring and inspection equipment for print images. This continued development not only relies on company-own, smart ideas but also on the experience and knowledge gathered in the development and production of sensors and cameras. Based on the time-tested functionality and modularity of the ELSCAN family ELSCAN OMS 4 _1_ also sets new standards in customer benefits and in the price/performance ratio. The new diffused light area flash for a homo- geneous lighting of the print image and the 2 integrated fix focus cameras each with a diffe- rent focal length are the core of this innovative development. The print image monitoring process is reliable, digital and direct and there is no time delay; the changes from one camera to the other are unnoticed by the user. This camera concept has generated new options in web monitoring, for example the possibility to monitor simul- taneously both the repeat and the details of an image section and the sliding, continuous image navigation. The well-established functionality of ELSCAN has been retained. Image stabilization, the easy selection of a desired reference position and the expanded software version Pro are standard features also with ELSCAN OMS 4_1_. The ELSCAN family is subject to permanent development on the basis of these charac- teristic features and new modules are con- stantly added to meet new requirements. Thus ELSCAN is always “fresh” and up to date.
