She graduated from Tampa University and received her doctoral degree from Boston University. Her research has spanned over multiple fields strategic management, international entrepreneurship, and management in transitional economies. Currently, she is also investigating the growth and financial strategies of women- led businesses worldwide. She published, among the others, in the Journal of Business Venturing, the Journal of Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Small Business Economics. Chemmanur is currently a Professor of Finance and Hillenbrand Distinguished Fellow at the Carroll School of Management, Boston College. His research on theoretical and empirical entrepreneurial finance and innovation, contract theory, and topics in applied game theory has been published on among the others, the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and Financial Management. He serves and has served on the Editorial Board of several journals including the the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, International Review of Finance, and the Journal of Economics and Business.
