1 PurposeThis configuration guide provides the information you need to set up the configuration of this building block manually.

If you do not want to configure manually and prefer an automated installation process using BC Sets and other tools, refer to the installation guide of this building block.

2 Preparation

2.1 PrerequisitesA good working knowledge of SAP R/3 is necessary. There is some prerequisite Building Block which needs to be installed before this one.

3 Configuration

3.1 Organizational Structures

3.1.1 Common Organizational Structures

UseThe purpose of this activity is only to create relevant organizational structures, such as company codes and plants.

Procedure Access the Customizing activity as described in the BC Set configuration data, and make the settings according to the table values listed in this documentation.

The purpose of this activity is to create a company. A company is an organizational unit in Accounting which represents a business organization according to the requirements of commercial law in a particular country. Consolidation functions in financial accounting are based on companies. A company can comprise one or more company codes. We have created company BP001.

Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

8. On the Organizational Object Company Code double-click Copy Org. Object or choose F6.

9. On the Copy dialog box make the following set of entries:

15. On the Transport number ranges and addresses dialog box choose Enter.

16. Choose Save.

Result Company code BP0X is created.

3.2.3 Maintaining Company Codes Address

UseThe purpose of this activity is to enter the address for the company code BP0X.

Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

Use

In this step you assign the company codes, which you want to include in the group accounting, to a company.

Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. On the Change View “Assign Company code ® company” Overview screen, make the following sets of entries:

3.2.6 Assignment of Company Code to Credit Control Area

UseTo attach company code BP01 and BP0X, to Credit Control Area BP01.

Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

UseThe purpose of this activity is to attach Company code BP0X to controlling area BP01.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu Enterprise Structure ® Assignment ® Controlling ® Assign company code to controlling area

Transaction Code OX19

2. On the Change View “Basic data” Overview screen, select the Controlling area BP01, double-click Assignment of Company codes in the dialog box.

3. New Entries: Details of Added Entries, Enter Company code BP0X.

4. Choose Save or Ctrl+S.

ResultCompany code BP0X is attached to Controlling area BP01.

3.3 Definition of MM Organizational Elements

3.3.1 Defining Manufacturing Plant

UseThe purpose of this activity is to define main production plant BP01.

Prerequisites Company code BP01 has already been created.

A Depot is a place from which materials are sold. First ship them from manufacturing plant to a separate location called a depot, from where you will sell them.

3.3.3 Maintaining Storage Locations for Manufacturing Plant

UseA Storage Location is the place where the physically materials are kept within a plant.

Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. The System displays dialog box, which will ask for a Plant in which you want to define Storage Locations.

3. Please enter the value BP01 in the Plant field, and choose Enter to continue.
