Kitarah, R&B’s female newcomer of the year is released her debut (EP), Self-titled Kitarah on Monday, May
3, 2010 on Amazon.com. This rising star who’s a native New Englander is a talented young lady holding her
own as she brings intensity and high energy with a sure R&B winner “Erratik!” At the same time, Kitarah is
then able to break it down with a smooth and mid-tempo ballad “Taboo.”
While inspired early on by Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, this feisty young songstress
has been honing her craft and is ready to kick the door in and make a name for herself! KutRoc Records
recognized the talent and paired her with the genius of up and coming songwriter Jared Jones. Because
of the mix of this artist’s keen sense of what she wants and the chemistry between the songwriter, the East
Coast is doing BIG things!!!
Kitarah says “my goal is to hit fans with songs that will blow their minds away. I also throw a little bit of a
Latin flavor here and there to bring a taste of my roots in.” This project has also been mastered by one of
the greats, renowned mastering legend for Usher and Mariah Carey, Herb Powers, Jr. At an early pre-
listening event, Kitarah's performance of new release "Erratik" was an instant hit with the crowd and DJs.
"Wow, Kitarah brought it, first, nice girl singing "Taboo" then pulls
out chair and takes over stage with "Erratik," said
new fan, Amy. "She's got something there and I'd
like to play Erratik at my club (one of the largest
clubs in the area)," said DJ E. "I have to admit, I
was watching crowd's reaction and it was
positive, but when Kitarah transformed into
“Erratik" the deal was sealed. Everybody was feeling it,"
said Medina, CEO of KutRoc.
On the additional cuts of the (EP) “Teaser,” a “good girl
gone bad” song, she sings about a girl who has been
teased around by guys and decides to turn the tables. She
is now the teaser. Kitarah quickly adds, “I would never be
that girl in real life. But it’s fun to make-believe and to be a
certain character…” Last track “My Escape” is what she
likes to call her getaway song. This up-tempo cut is sure to
appeal to the young ladies!
Breakthrough artist, Kitarah is waiting to show everyone
she’s a contender in this game and is ready to WORK it!
