BIOGRAPHYGlenroy Bonner aka Snatcha was born in Rock Hall St. Andrew. He is the youngest member of Bonner Brothers which includes his older siblings reggae stars Richie Spice, Spanner Banner and Pliers of the legendary musical duo Chaka Demus & Pliers, all of whom are stalwarts in the Jamaican music industry.
Snatcha began to showcase his musical talent at an early age as he competed and was placed in the top spot of several talent competitions. These early successes inspired him to perform on the Tastee Talent Contest. His performance at Tastee’s landed him a contract to perform on seven shows across the islands which were sponsored by the famous Jamaican drinks company D& G.
Snatcha’s first single titled African Woman was released in 1997, it received favorable airplay on many local radio stations including IRIE FM, RJR FM & HITZ 92 FM. Two years later he collaborated with his older brother Richie Spice on the single titled Living Ain’t Easy, which secured the number one spot on the RJR Reggae charts for two weeks. As a result of the success of this single he performed on several major events locally with Richie Spice. Snatcha is currently working assiduously voicing singles and writing songs. His latest singles include ‘Fight Fi Mi Cause’, ‘No More War’, ‘Creation’, and ‘Girlfriend’ which are loved by many. Snatcha’s most recent singles which most radio stations have grown to love “Price to Make It” done on the 1ST Klass Rhythm from the Bonner yard label and “Ego” from the Exterminator label, is causing an uproar in the roots reggae segments because of its catchy punch line and smooth lyrics.
Some of his most memorable performances to date includes Everton Blender’s Birthday Bash, Rebel Salute, Sting 2000, Champions in Action, Dance Hall Jam Jam & White River Reggae Bash to name a few. Snatcha has also performed overseas in countries such as Antigua, St. Croix, Trinidad & Tobago, Abaco, St. Lucia, USA and Europe.
Snatcha continues to deliver brilliant thought provoking music to reggae music fans globally and remain as timeless as his inspiration and musical hero Peter Tosh. He also aims to educate the people with his conscious lyrics as he performs Jah’s righteous works to the fullest as he says the sky is the limit.
