Completed: RC1 MH088477 (Nestler) 9/09-8/11 NIMH Screening for Small Molecule Activators of ∆FosB This grant represented a collaborative effort with Gabby Rudenko at the University of Michigan who identified and characterized small molecular modulators of ∆FosB. Dr. Nestler then studied lead molecules in cell culture and in vivo. P50 MH66172 (Nestler) 9/02-7/12 NIMH, Neural Substrates of Appetitive Behavior in Mood and Motivation The goal of this multi-project grant is to explore the role of the brain’s reward pathways (particularly the nucleus accumbens and hypothalamus) in the regulation of normal mood and in animal models of stress and depression.
