Dear Parents, We need you!
We currently have vacancies for Parent Governors and are looking for people who would like to help us make the school a great place to be. You don’t have to be a qualified professional person. Above all, we want people who are interested in getting involved, can spare time to help us out, are able to work inde-pendently and on their own initiative, and who are able to represent the interests of all parents. You should also have basic IT skills as emails and meeting documents are a big part of the role. Governors aren’t employed by the school, it’s a voluntary role. All of our governors ei-ther work or have daytime commitments, and we know it can be tough juggling work & family responsibilities with governor ones. Meetings are generally evenings, and average two per term, depending on any commit-tees you are on. There is a commitment during the day time - we do learning walks where we visit the children in classes, training can be conducted during the day as well. At present, with COVID, we also do a lot of our meetings via Zoom. It isn’t all business though. As a governor, you get to see parts of the school from a dif-ferent angle. It is great to be able to see the children in the classes, or at events, and know that as a governor you are helping them in being the best that they can be. What do you think?
