Sign up for a class with the faculty member whose research interests you Distinguish yourself Talk to him/her about research and about funding
opportunities Be open to doing a “Special Problem” before the
faculty member commits to hiring you as a GRA Market yourself to faculty whose research interests
you. What skills do you have that they might need? How does their research interest you?
63
GTA Positions
GTA offers are for contiguous terms GTA offers are based on ECE’s needs and
the fiscal year budget We normally have almost twice as many
applicants as positions Virtually all GTA offers for the current
