Join instructor Kathy Nelson in creating a beautiful piece of art work on a 16 x 20

gallery wrap canvas using acrylic paints. Kathy will choose a still life to paint from and

for only $70 you can create a piece you will be proud to display in your home.

Mondays Play with Us!

Performing arts skills builds muscle, brains, & self esteem as well as builds

character, confidence, and creativity in the lives of students. Classes are designed to

provide wholesome theatre experiences, skill building, and content to help students

develop their character as well as their talent. Students will explore may elements

of acting, including character development, movement, voice, audition, and

improvisational skills. These will be taught through direct instruction, acting

games, and exercises, as well as rehearsing and then performing.

Showstoppers 5:00 - 5:45 (5-18yrs) $30/$60 production fee

A theatrical song and dance troupe .

Christmas Show: Polar Express

Spring Show: Will be chosen by students

5:45 - 6:30 (3rd-5th) $35/$50 production fee

Learn acting skills through theater games, dance, voice, & other activities. Each

student will select a monologue to perform for family and friends on May 21, 2012.

The Play’s the Thing Festival/Technical Class 6:30 - 7:30 (5-18 yrs) $45/$60 production fee

This class will focus on a show that will be presented locally and at the Georgia

Theater Conference in October. This class will also serve as tech for Arts Center

Theatre productions and will learn set construction, marketing, costuming, stage

management, special effects, box office management, etc. After October, in addition

to classroom work, this class will also begin work on the spring production of Alice

in Wonderland.

****Classes will not meet when a school holiday falls on a Monday

Mondays: Senior Yoga 2:30 - 3:30 $50.00 monthly Yoga is a good choice for seniors because it is gentle, easy method of improving health and quality of life. Many yoga poses can be modified so they can be performed in a chair, wheelchair, or even a bed. Tuesdays: Integral Hatha Yoga 6:30 - 7:30 $75.00 monthly You practice in poses, breathing techniques, meditation and deep relaxation to improve your health and well being. Wednesdays: Mommy and Me Yoga 1:15 - 2:15 $50.00 monthly You and your toddler will bond in yoga through the senses, singing, moving, learning, and breathing. Thursdays: Kid Yoga 4:30 - 5:30 $50.00 monthly For Elementary school children through pre-teen age, yoga can be a great source of exercise, relaxation and fun. Yoga is also a great tool for teaching children how to focus and manage negative feelings. Private class: 6:30 - 7:30 $75.00 monthly Learn to create a personal yoga practice to meet your needs.

Program Grants

Thank you for making it possible for the Arts Center to outreach in Colquitt

County to provide arts services throughout the community.

The Moultrie Service League and the Program for Exceptional Children provides

funding for certified Yoga instructor, Ponda McKinney, to teach “Yoga for the

Special Child” in the special education classrooms in all Colquitt County Schools.

The Moultrie Service League and United Way provides funding for Diana Paulk

to teach afternoon art classes at all ten YMCA Primetime sites in all elementary

schools and at two sites at the YMCA.

The Housing Authority of Moultrie and Doerun provide funding to teach arts and

crafts, painting, and guitar at the Housing Authority NW Community Center, the

SW Community Center and in the Doerun Community Center and Doerun

Elementary.

Instructors are Kathy Nelson, Ponda McKinney and Sam Null.

Colquitt County Family Connections provides funding from private and public

sources for an art program with Kathy Nelson for the Prevention Students of the

Achievement Program at the High School.

The YMCA provides funding through their 21st. Century Learning Grant for the

Norman Park site for art classes with instructor, Kathy Nelson

United Way provides funding for scholarship and instruction for summer camps

at the arts center, art programs at the Boys and Girls Club, art and yoga

programs at retirement centers, a weekly Senior Adult painting class at the arts

center and an annual children’s theater event.

The Moultrie Service League helps fund the curatorial position for the

Kaleidoscope Museum that tours all Colquitt County 2nd graders and is open for

children and family fun. Candace Underwood, curator.

Special Thanks to all of our patrons and donors who make it possible for the Art

Center to be housed in such a special facility of historical importance to the

community. Special funding from the Foundation, private Individuals, and the

Moultrie Service League continue to make it possible for major improvement

projects that make our center the “best in the state”.

Thank you to Volunteer Arts Alliance, The Moultrie Federated Guild, The

Kiwanis, the Rotary and the Junior Woman’s Club for your special support in

supporting the operation, hosting events, purchasing equipment for programs and

hosting events.
