LOVE CHRIST. LOVE OTHERS.SERVE

February 17-18

From the Senior Minister

Well summer is here, and we can’t hide from the heat. Don’t you LOVE Florida. I suppose I shouldn’t sound like I am complaining. I sure do enjoy the Florida weather we have, heat and all, more than I do that cold useless white stuff they have up north. But nonetheless, summer has arrived and we have begun some of our usual summer activities. June promises another exciting Father’s Day Brunch, and summer camp season begins. I hope you will all circle June 16

th and 17

th on your calen-

dars. We read in Acts chapter 13 that the church leaders set aside Paul and Barnabas to begin their first missionary journey. They were ordained (set apart), prayed over, and sent off BY THE CHURCH. What an encouraging picture. We have that same opportunity on June 16

th. Our good friend and

brother in Christ, David Fincher, will be setting sail for Saint Lucia Island to begin his missionary work there. Many of you have already gotten to know David, and for those who have not already heard, his work in Saint Lucia has been added to our slate of missions supported through CCCC Faith Promise. (I am REALLY looking forward to the mission trip we plan to Saint Lucia). David is hosting a Bon Voy-age party in Carrabelle, FL the evening of June 16

th, and anyone from our CCCC family is invited to

come down for some light finger foods. I’m sure we will get a chance to say our goodbyes and have prayer as he is sent off. The very next day, the ladies of CCCC are providing a Father’s Day Brunch at 11a.m. Basical-ly if you are MALE, you are invited to the Father’s Day Brunch. Fathers, of course, are invited. But also we want every son (every son has a father) to know they are welcome to attend and join in on the food, fun, and games. Our ladies always go the extra mile to make Father’s Day Brunch a big deal. In addition to the summer fun in June, we also have our summer movies lined up. We have already kicked those off in the month of May showing “God’s Not Dead 2,” the sequel to the first mov-ie, “God’s Not Dead” that we saw a couple of years ago. It has already spawned some great discus-sion about the history and existence of Jesus of Nazareth. Make sure you check out our newsletter and bulletin for upcoming Friday night movies at CCCC. In the month of July we always kick it off with our annual attendance to the Celebrate America July 4

th event at Tom Brown Park. We always look forward to joining our community at large at this

event, and like years past we really need the volunteer help from as many from our church family as possible. It is a long hot day, but we always have a great time meeting and visiting with people from our community sharing Jesus and sharing about the ministries at CCCC. Please make sure you see the sign up sheet to pick a slot to volunteer. It will last from about 3 in the afternoon until about 10 p.m. that night. Not only do we share about our faith and share about our church, but our red, white and blue face paint and glow necklaces have become a real big hit. When you see how many of the kids are running around after the sun goes down with our glow necklaces, you get an exciting picture of the impact just a few hours can have on people. I hope you can help out. And finally, we have a GREAT group of volunteers that provide our meals on Wednesday nights. We break for the summer so that those volunteers are ready to go again in the fall, but that DOES NOT mean we don’t meet on Wednesday evenings. We will still meet at 6pm for prayer, devo-tions, Bible lessons, and Outreach event planning. We may also throw in a couple of chore and cleaning nights to get some things done around the church. Bottom line though—it may be summer, but we still have a lot going on at CCCC. I hope you are there with us. See ya’ Sunday, Allen G.

Communication From the Leadership

I Knew You When… Psalm 139:7-18 - Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens,

you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the dark-ness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.

Have you ever had an ‘I knew you when’ moment? Mine came in early 2000’s. My church was hosting a TRUTH concert and I was chosen to be the chef to feed them prior to their concert. I had a blast, I couldn’t even tell you what I made. I admit I was a bit ‘star struck’, I had been following TRUTH for several years and they had recently announced they were about to end their ministry after 25 years of touring. This group has over the years helped to begin the careers of 4 Him, Avalon, Steve Green, Little Big Town, Anthony Evans, and my personal favorite Natalie Grant.

Natalie had just begun touring with TRUTH and was literally a newcomer. She was truly an unknown. Then we all heard her sing; what a beautiful voice. Natalie is now a Grammy nominated recording artist with over 3 million in career sales since 2005 when she began touring on her own. She is also a passionate advocate for those trapped in human trafficking, and the co-founder of Hope for Justice International. Recently Grant released her 10th studio album entitled Be One debuted #1 on Bill-board’s Top Christian Albums Chart. From that album ‘Clean’ a song she says was written in about 20 minutes. Grant writes; I see shattered, You see whole, I see broken, But You see beautiful. And You're helping me to believe, You’re re-storing me piece by piece. There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy, You wash me in mercy, I am clean.

From her humble beginnings to multi award winner Natalie Grant is the one person that I get to say ‘I knew you when’.

You know the Lord says the same thing to us. I knew you, even before you knew you. Which brings us back to Psalm 139; we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the likeness or image of God. He knew us and loved us before he knew us. He formed us, knit us together. He has all of our ‘I knew you when’ moments. He holds the past, present and future. Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

I personally look forward to that day. The day no one knows. You knew me when and now I am blessed to know you. Thank you Lord for knowing us and letting us know you. -The Elders
