available in state agenfies and departments in.California. Time has never

resources of these agencies, although the staffs of the Adminis4ative
Legislative Reference Section and the Library Deveropment Services Bureau of
the California State Library are in contact -witb staff in many ofpese libraries.

California. Any state,employee may borrow directly from the State Library.
In addition, anyone may come in person'to use the collections and reference.

ance to California public librar:ies is provided by the Library Development,;
Services Bureau.
The State Library collection which consists of books, periodicals, newspapers,
'documents;, maps and microforms, has been'developed to meet the research.needs of
StateGoverdment. The card catalog for the g nerai collection is lOOated with.
the circulation section on the third floor. eparate card catalogs are main-,
tained in the Law Library, the Govennment Pu lications Section and the California
Section. Periodical holdings are included in the California Union ;List of
Periodicals,. a-computerized listing, which is available on microfiche from"flite
California Library' Authority for SyStOssand Services (CLASS.)
Limited copying servide (from books, periodicals or microforms) will be provided
when needed for state 6UsineSs'or to satisfy interlibrary loan-requests. ,
Coin-operated'cWers sand microform reader-printers are available for public use'.
