Pressure indicatorsThese types of indicators are used with return lineand suction filters.

They indicate the need for filter element service.

Type P... indicators and pressure gauges M... They are used for indication of pressure and vacuumin filters and can be used for all non aggressivefluids. Due to the filter element contamination the pressuredrop across the filter is increasing. If the staticpressure (resp. the low pressure in suction filters) has reached the allowable value, the filter elementhas to be changed or cleaned.

Pressures switch H... and vacuum meter I...If the adjusted static pressure (resp. the low pres-sure in suction filters) is reached, an electricalcontact is released, used to indicate visual andacoustic signals for the need of filter element service.

Differential pressure indicatorsThese visual and/or electrical indicators are used to monitor the filter elements contamination status by indicating the differential pressure(pressure drop across the filter).

Indicator type E…, A…, F..., R…., S…, G…, T... and U...When the filter element contamination increases or a selected differential pressure is reached, the pistonwith its switching magnet is pushed against a pres-sure spring.An emerging red pin indicates the filter element ser-vice.The visual/electrical version has an additionalmagnetic switch releasing a switching process.If the pressure drop decreases a reset is causedautomatically.

Contamination indicator type V...The visual indicator type V... is equipped with a three colour disc indicating a green field when aclean filter element is installed.If the pressure drop increases, the disc is moved to a yellow and lastly to a red field indicating the need for filter element service.

SSeerrvviiccee iinnssttrruuccttiioonn ffoorr mmaaiinntteennaannccee iinnddiiccaattoorrss IInnssttaallllaattiioonn Certain maintenance indicators are shipped separately for protectionagainst damage during shipment. These indicators have to be mounted atthe filter prior to startup.

IInnssttaallllaattiioonn ooff ttyyppee AA...... iinnddiiccaattoorr1. remove plug from installation borings 2. tube maintenance indicator at the filter's installation device while

tightening swivel nut (SW 17) and hold up union piece (SW 17) at filter

IInnssttaallllaattiioonn ooff ttyyppee EE...... iinnddiiccaattoorr1. remove plug from filter head 2. check position of both O-rings in maintenance indicator 3. screw indicator into G 1/2 connection thread considering starting

torque of max. 70 Nm (7,1 mkp)

IInnssttaallllaattiioonn ooff eelleeccttrriiccaall iinnddiiccaattoorrIf an electric plug is used it can be turned in any direction after the swivelnut (SW 34) has been released. Tighten swivel nut again.

Connect indicator with a single switching point using the three wiredcable.Please verify electrical ratings on the indicators name plate.Connection settings:1. normally closed : 1 (black & white) + 3 (blue) 2. normally open : 1 (black & white) + 2 (brown) 2. common : 1 (black & white) + 2 (brown) + 3 (blue)

Connect electrical indicators with two switching points in accordance toinstructions on name plate.

CClleeaanniinngg ooff mmaaiinntteennaannccee iinnddiiccaattoorrssDifferential pressure indicators have to be cleaned if highly contaminatedfluids are filtered, because contamination residues can deposit in theindicators upstream side.

Procedure:

Switch off system pump

Flange mounted and type A... indicators:Release plug (socket head cap screw M 12 x 1,5) and remove piston valve.Clean pressure spring, piston valve and indicator boring.Oil piston valve, put on spring, install them inside the indicator and closeagain. Starting torque 20 Nm (2,1 mkp).

Disconnect indicators from filter housing if they are not easily accessible.

Screwable indicators type E...:Unscrew indicator, remove locking ring and compensation disc.Remove piston valve and spring for cleaning.Oil piston valve and install it with spring in maintenance indicator thenclose again with compensation disc and locking ring.
