Mecklenburg EMS Agency: News From The Front Line
The Medic Dispatch

Performance Pay Update
The new tracking period began on July 1st. As you can see from the latest Performance Pay update, we are currently tracking to hit performance goals. The Patient Satisfaction score is currently at 68% and Priority One Trauma Scene Time is at 9:45. Performance goals for these two measures are ≥ 68% Excellent and ≤ 10 minute. Communication and teamwork are key drivers of an excellent patient experience. Remember AIDET, an effective tool that should be used on every call to improve communication with our patients. Your actions over the next several weeks can positively or negatively influence the final results of this current tracking period. Let’s continue to deliver medical excellence and compassionate care!

New FTO’s & Preceptor
Congratulations to our new Field Training Officers and Preceptors.
In an effort to improve Medic’s
Performance Evaluations on several
levels, a revised Performance Evaluation Tool has been created. It
is important that all Agency
employees view the video
explanation of this tool and the changes associated with it. If you
have any questions after viewing it,
please speak with your Manager or
Supervisor for assistance. The Video is on the LMS site. www.medic911.com/extranet/lms As a reminder, the username for the LMS website is your employee number. If you have never logged in then your password is medic911.
Links to the LMS can be found by
going to My Medic on the Medic
Homepage.
A link for mobile phone viewing is
also available.

Medic has met the “gold standard”
determined by the ambulance
industry to be essential in a modern
emergency medical services provider. These standards often
exceed those established by state or
local regulation.
Great job!

2. Additionally, parking on the exit side of the Outpatient Surgery is prohibited since patient vehicles are not able to exit.
We understand the parking challenges and are working on a long term solution. Contact your supervisor with questions.
Two Important Items about Parking at CMC University.
1. Please note that when picking up from or dropping patients off at CMC University, do not park under the awning of the Outpatient Surgery center. The sliding glass door is where the patients are wheeled out to their personal vehicles when they are being discharged. When you are parked there this blocks their access. There have been recent incidents where they have had to wheel the patients out to their cars in the parking lot.
Save the date for the 24th Annual Paramedic Competition at the EMS Today Conference, October 4th through the 8th. Come and see paramedics
John Stroup
&
Michael Dudkowski
as they represent the agency as the regional champions.

consistently above and beyond my wildest expectations. You truly are a family of amazing people, who not only spend your day helping save people’s lives- you truly care about your patients and one another. Your passion and caring showed from the first moment we reached the hospital doors to be ushered up by uniformed Medics. It showed when the halls started to fill with Medic personnel, until I think there were more Medics than family members. Your caring shone through Eric's co-workers, who were so concerned for his life they stopped by after their shift ended to come and make sure he was okay. The caring and bond of the entire organization showed when everyone from Eric's training officer to the head of the Medic organization took the time to come by the hospital and offer their support, even if they couldn't go back and actually visit with Eric. The fact that Eric Morrison and Eric Bitler would stand in for my brother at our sister's graduation blew us away.
By Emily Hudspeth— 7-25-14 Dear Medic, It's hard to put into words what the amazing people at Medic have done for my family. Two of your co-workers literally saved my brother’s life. If it weren't for Katie and Courtney's miraculous care, Eric probably would never have made it to the hospital. As a family member of someone in a trauma this severe, you can't always fully appreciate the work that EMTs and Paramedics do to save your loved one's life. I know I will never be able to thank you all for the work that you do every day, but I have to try. Every single one of the people I have met from Medic has gone
#MedicStrong
They clearly care, even about the little things. They volunteered to help move my mom out of her house as she had to deal with moving when Eric was in the hospital, and stopped by countless times to offer support. The list of instances like these has been endless; I couldn't possible cover every moment I have been literally blown away by how amazing Medic is. To each and every one of you at Medic, thank you for showing my family your true colors. There isn't a more beautiful sight to see. Thank you. Thank you for everything that you do and everything that you are. You have truly made us feel like we are a part of your family - so if someone comes up to you and hugs you the next time you are wearing Medic gear, it just might be me. #MedicStrong
