As previously noted, the latest Performance Pay Tracking Pe-riod began on July 1st. We are striving to meet the Patient Sat-isfaction goal of a ≥ 68% rating (experience as “Excellent”).

In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the pa-tient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups.

The two areas that patients val-ue the most are:

1. Communication from the treating crew: “Explain treatment options and procedures”

“Provide reassurance and compassionate com- munication with patient”

2. Setting clear expectations: “Set transport length expec- tation”

“Set a triage level expecta- tion before arriving at the hospital”

HEART WALK 2014On Saturday, September 20th, Paramedic, Roni Brittain & Community Engagement Co-ordinator, Lester Oliva provided ‘hands only’ CPR training to American Heart Association Heart Walk participants. Lester and Roni trained over 100 people at the event, with the hopes of creating future training participants for Bystander CPR classes. Bystander CPR is important because it contributes to positive patient outcomes.

Mecklenburg County has one of the highest survival rates for Cardiac Arrest patients in the nation. Even-though Medic is proud of this achievement, we are con-stantly working to improve our standing. Thank you to AHA for inviting us to the Heart Walk and to Duke En-ergy for sponsoring our tent. To learn more about life saving CPR classes, please visit: medic911.com.
