Gospel Reflection First Sunday in Lent
March 17— Luke 9:28b-36
While Jesus, Peter, John and James are on a mountain praying, Jesus is transformed before them—full of glory. Peter, John and James see him talking with Moses and Elijah, Old Testament figures representing the Law and Prophets. The apostles want to build three tents and stay there. As they say this, a cloud overshadows them and they hear a voice saying, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”
The disciples and Jesus went to the mountain to
pray. How can you make a special time or place to pray during this Lent?
