NOTE: Registration Fees may change to meet inflation or increase in cost such as but not limited to facilities, equipment, uniform, etc to effectively run a successful program.

A rainout called by RMWB Facility Booking Coordinator is not left up to user discretion.

SPORTSFIELD INFORMATION LINE 780-743-7078 is updated daily at 3:00 pm. User groups are encouraged to call this information line for current field conditions.

FMYSA will update its website regarding cancellation due to inclement weather or closure by RMWB by 3.15pm.

FMYSA will cancel sessions if the Air Quality Index is a 7 or higher, for the safety of the players and coaches. FMYSA will update parents and coaches about cancellations due to poor Air Quality Index reading by 3.00pm and will update the FMYSA website. The city may not close the fields.

CURRICULUM

THE ACADEMY

PLAYER & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Our curriculum is specifically designed for the ages & stages of player development based on the Canada Soccer Long Term Player Development guideline (CSA LTPD).

FMYSA is committed in the delivery of high quality sessions. Sessions for U4 – U9 are delivered in Festivals method. The Festivals, which teaches the FIFA promoted and Canada Soccer and Alberta Soccer endorsed Preferred Training Model to grassroots soccer players, help provide a positive base for communities to develop their grassroots soccer programs upon. The model focuses on teaching technical skills in a FUN atmosphere. Players would go through varies stations developing basic movements skills, and technical skills, while incorporating fun and an enjoyable experience.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

FMYSA relies on volunteer assistance to help run our programs effectively and efficiently. There is plenty of opportunity for parents to volunteer for various events. Parents pay the Volunteer Levy once a year and once they have successfully completed their volunteer duties for a minimum of 5 hours over the year, they will receive their volunteer levy refunded.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Active Start – For U4-U6 designed to help develop a basic understanding of physical literacy.

Fundamentals – U7-U9 Building on the understanding of physical literacy and focusing on the Canada soccer LTPD model

Learning to Train – U11-U13 Focusing on understanding the development stage of their technical skills.

Soccer for Life – U13+ Development stage of the players and focusing on technical and tactical development.

1 x 50 minutes practice per week on Saturday mornings led by Grassroots Development Coaches. Players will go through variety activities at different stations. Parents are required to participate in all sessions at this stage and age of their child’s development. It’s important that parents are appropriately dressed to participate in the all the physical activities.
