Update on the Educational Trust Fund Campaign

We hope that you have had an oppor-tunity to view the video supporting our "Legacy of Faith, Future of Hope" fundraising campaign. If you haven't viewed the video you can see it online at the parish website at

www.mhtparish.com Our small parish has certainly contrib-uted greatly to the legacy of faith and future of hope, both within and beyond our community. Just as our ancestors paved a path for our faith formation, we too are called to pass on the gift of faith to those in our community and be-yond. Your gift to the campaign will help the parish to con-tinue to carry out its important mission. You will be helping both people that you know now, and people that will come long after we are all gone, just as those that came before us, have helped us, by committing to this beautiful church 100 years ago. A

We have received 75 contributions, totaling 1/3 of our cam-paign goal. Thank you to those of you that have already completed your pledge. Pledge cards are available in the entrances of the church. You may also pledge online through the parish website.

Together, we can express our gratitude for our gift of faith, by sharing it, and supporting the Parish programs and ac-tivities that promote faith formation.

This week I have asked Aubrey Hengesbach to share with us.

God Bless, Fr. Dennis

This Sunday’s readings are a reminder to me of how God has given us a new life in Christ, the new life He promises to those who seek to do His Will. This grace given to us from Christ can strengthen us spiritually, mentally, and physically. As Catholics, we believe that God gives us a new life in Him through the sacrament of baptism. Through this sacra-ment, we have a chance to be who God cre-ated us to be and one day be united with Him for all eternity in heaven. Amazing

enough, Christ gave us the Church to be His hands and feet and left us with six more sacraments. Each sacrament is an opportunity to allow God to come into us and give us healing and strength. Because of my position at the parish as sacramental prep coordinator and a catechist, I have been challenged this year to look into the sacraments in a deeper way; to really try to understand them like never be-fore.

When receiving Jesus mindfully in a sacrament, it is impos-sible for us not to be changed. Sometimes the change isn’t noticeable to our senses, but there always comes a time in our lives when we know it was only through Christ that we had the strength to overcome a situation and then, little by little, our faith grows to know God in a personal way. I can see this in my own life with the Eucharist. When I was younger I solely relied on faith when I believed that what appeared to be bread was really Jesus. Although my faith seemed small at the time, I can see now that just that little bit of faith, along with every time I received Jesus at the Mass since then, The Holy Spirit has been working in me and building me up to be the person He has called me to be. Knowing that my second grade class was over joyed to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time a few weeks ago, makes me look forward to what The Lord has in store for them. I know that their trust in God is so strong and that even such a complicated concept makes perfect sense to them because of their child-like faith.

But even so, by God’s grace, we can encounter Jesus in a sacrament and have a Saint Paul moment where Jesus knocks us off our horse and we are able to see Him for who He really is. Or, like he does for the widow in the first read-ing, heals us physically. There have been times in my life where I read stories like these where God has interceded and people were healed and thought to myself, “Why doesn’t God do those things today?” However, the truth is that God works miracles like these all of the time, we just have to be open to the blessings He yearns to pour down on us.

“He was moved with pity for her and said to her; “Do not weep.”’ Luke 7:13.

As members of the Catholic Church, it is important to take advantage of the gifts Christ wishes to bestow on us through the sacraments. It can be easy to forget that God truly wants healing for us more than we want it for our-selves! It is through these encounters with Christ that many who are weak have found refuge in Him and have been given the endurance to overcome. Just as we read in the first reading when God worked through Elijah to heal the

widow’s son. It is astounding to know that Christ’s mission has been carried out by the Church for centuries and that God has not forgotten us.

We know through the writings in the Bible that Christ wishes for us to live life abundantly through Him. It can be difficult to vulnerably run to God and cast our cares on Him like He desires us to. I pray that we have the courage to always run to God first in times of trial and in times of joy. Whether it be through the sacraments or in personal prayer. May we never lose sight of who God really is, so we always know Him as healer and never refrain from accepting His grace.

God bless, Aubrey

New Music Director

We're happy to announce that Kayla Feldpausch has agreed to be our new Music Director here at Most Holy Trin-ity. Having grown up in our parish, Kayla has been very in-volved in all aspects of our ministry since her graduation, which should make for a smooth transition. We are very excited to have her join the team!

MHT Festival Help

Our Parish Festival is quickly approaching this summer on July 28 - 31. With the difficulty in getting volunteers to chair the event the past couple of years, we are seriously starting to weigh our options moving forward. We would like to form a committee of people to look at the festival in depth and decide if there are better ways to get people to help, or if we should stop doing it in future years. If you would like to be on this committee and involved in making this decision, please contact Adam at the parish office.

Next year we will be in need of someone to chair both the games and the Arts and Crafts Booth. Nichole Rhynard is in the last year doing the games and Diane Smith is in her last year with Arts and Crafts but both would be willing to show the ropes this year to anyone who would like to take over next year. Contact Adam at the parish office if you are inter-ested.
